Hotel 1898 Barcelona
Hotel 1898 is situated towards the top of Las Rambla and between Metro Liceu and Plaça de Catalunya. It’s a great location to explore all of Barcelona and rooms are a reasonable size with good toiletries and facilities. The rooftop pool is great with stunning views and there’s a bar for drinks and food too, with tables, lounge beds and loungers. Recommended ❤️

A hotel that turns a vacation into unforgettable memories
Choosing Hotel 1898 was one of the best decisions we made for our trip to Barcelona. While the hotel itself is beautiful, what truly sets it apart is the people who work there and the genuine care they show every guest.
The location couldn't be better—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to walk to many of Barcelona's famous attractions while still offering a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere to return to after a day of sightseeing.
Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and exceptionally comfortable. Despite being located on the lively La Rambla, we were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and quiet the hotel was. It created the perfect environment to relax and recharge after exploring the city.
The rooftop terrace offers stunning views over Barcelona, and the spa was the perfect place to unwind after long days of walking. We also enjoyed the restaurant, where both the food and the service were outstanding.
The highlight of our stay was my wife's birthday. The hotel surprised her with a thoughtful birthday gesture that completely exceeded our expectations. It wasn't something that felt routine or automatic—it felt personal, sincere, and full of kindness. It made her day even more special, and it's a memory we will always cherish.
Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to delivering exceptional service. You could tell they take pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests.
Another aspect we truly appreciated was the value for money. Hotel 1898 delivers a premium experience in every way—from the facilities and location to the service and attention to detail. It felt like every euro was well spent, and we left feeling that we had received far more than we expected.
There are many beautiful hotels in Barcelona, but very few leave such a lasting impression. Hotel 1898 gave us far more than a comfortable stay—it gave us memories we'll remember for years.

I'll stay again next time.
I chose Hotel 1898 because I was going to stay in Barcelona for 6 days and it was close to Plaza Catalunya, Buceria Market and Metro station. In addition to the very convenient location, we loved the chic and beautiful exterior, the modern and exclusive rooms, the delicious food, the comfortable and relaxing rooftop garden, and the staff being nice and service beyond what we had imagined. I would like to use Hotel 1898 again next time. Thank you very much.

Great hotel with nice and comfortable rooms and bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. I recommend visiting the spa and the rooftop pool and bar.
