Wonderful stay for Solar Eclipse
We spent three nights at the hotel for the solar eclipse and booked the special event with the tasting menu that was organised by the hotel. What really made the difference was the friendliness of everyone at the Barceló. The beds were very comfortable, and the location was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bilbao.

Good Location & Value
Great location for Guggenheim, River Cruise and Old City. Breakfast choice was good and staff helpful. Whilst the food was very good, service however in the main restaurant was poor and we had to wait an hour for first course to be served. Bar / lounge area was good and prices reasonable for a 4 star hotel.

Great location within walking distance of the Old Town, with a beautiful river walk right in front of the hotel. The only downside is that parking can be difficult to find, and even the hotel's parking is often full. Fortunately, Bilbao is very walkable, so it's easy to explore the city on foot.

By the river and parks and so close to many places (Guggenheim/ art museum/shopping). Comfortable beds, cool air conditioning, locker for bags.

A safe bet
In 2019 we already stayed at this hotel and, on our new visit to Bilbao, we did not hesitate to repeat. Once again, this chain has not disappointed us.
Upon our arrival, there were many people checking in due to a flight cancellation. At that moment, we want to highlight the excellent work of Sandra, one of the receptionists. She demonstrated great professionalism, efficiency, and exceptional friendliness. Despite the volume of work, she quickly assisted the entire line assigned to her and explained everything to us clearly and kindly. Without a doubt, ten out of ten service.
The hotel is located in a very central area, perfect for exploring Bilbao on foot. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and very well maintained, following the chain's usual quality level.
As the only point for improvement, you can slightly hear the noise from the hallway when room doors are opened and closed. Even so, the rest is excellent thanks to the comfort of the beds.
Without a doubt, we will return. Highly recommended!
