Uncomfortable experience

Our experience here was a bit dodgy. The morning after our first night we were lay in bed having just woke up and all of a sudden a random woman (who we now know to be a member of staff) walked in to our room, no knock, no warning or anything. She was startled to see us and quickly closed the door but when my boyfriend went out to see what she had wanted there was no reason. Then when we were leaving to go out for the day she stopped us and tried to say we hadn’t paid, when we explained that we had paid in full and checked in with someone else the previous night she went and got someone else who spoke better English to tell us that we hadn’t paid. We explained we had and showed them our confirmation to which she then said we had only paid for one night, we continued to explain we had paid in full for both nights. When she seemed to accept this she then decided we owed an extra 350 baht for some unknown reason to which we refused and she let us go. Then a little later in the day we were in our room and there was a little commotion outside our door, a couple of people saying ‘hello, hello’ and knocking on our door. When we answered they again had no reason for knocking and just laughed, walking away with a key in their hand. It was a very dodgy experience. We felt quite uncomfortable and didn’t feel safe leaving valuables in our room as people just seemed to walk in and out wherever. Our booking also said we had a private bathroom and we didn’t. And the door to the shared balcony is always left open and was even reopened when we closed it so you can hear a lot of noise from the main road. The wall is also not completely sealed, around the top is just a fly screen that also has holes in it so not only does everything get in but you can hear everything outside your room.

Avoid

I wouldn't even say its budget friendly for over 12pound a night. The lady on the desk was nice enough, we booked a double bed fan room. The room was dingy, not very clean. Our double bed was a single bed then a camp bed pushed together. Few biting ants in the room. Shared bathroom that smells. It looked like the room out of the film 'the beach' where Richard meets Daffy.. seriously. Broken mosquito mesh above door. Avoid.

Terrible hotel - not worth money dont stay there

Arrived at 6pm and nobody in reception just a note saying they were asleep, come back later.
Went back an hour later, still nobody but eventually someone turned up.
Room did not look that clean and bedding had stains.
We stayed , very noisy all night, right next to main road. Nobody staff on hand , so in morning just left, even though air con seemed to be burning and had to turn off.

Good location

This guest house was located in a great location a minute walk from the beach with plenty of shops and restaurants along the way.
The guest house had mixed private bathroom and shared bathroom rooms. We stayed in a shared bathroom room, bathroom was clean, always accessible, never had to wait.
Rooms did not have air on, despite it saying on booking.com it did. The room had 2 fans with multiple settings so kept the room amicable.
Negatives:
The guest house is not easily found by airport transport!!
Staff spoke very little English and if we wanted to speak to someone who could help us we had to walk out of the hotel round the front to the massage parlour.
One occasion we had to wait over 1 hour for fresh towels.

Weird experience

So I booked a 3 nights stay for a fan room. I get there, the lady seems confused I’m there, she puts me up in this nice top floor room with a/c. I come back later that day, they said they made a mistake and are moving me ASAP downstairs to a smaller room with a/c. So I happily move. I get woken up at 11:50pm ( yes , midnight ) by the same lady saying I need to pay her extra since I only booked a fan room and this is an a/c room. Half asleep , I asked if we could talk tomorrow. I never saw her the next day, again at midnight, I get loudly woken up. She asks me to pay her extra for the a/c room since I booked only a fan room. I said , I don’t know if you realize , but some hotels upgrade people out of kindness to better rooms... free of charge and I thought that’s what she was doing. I ended up paying her 300 baht anyways for the annoyance of having her come around. Very weird way of running a business. Very basic rooms. Get what you pay for that’s forsure.
