Doesn’t even deserve 1 star
We’ve visited this hotel many times over the years for day use, as we live locally, often bringing family and always buying drinks throughout the day. We even used the pool just last week without any issues.
Today was a completely different story. As we arrived, we were stopped by the so-called “manager” to check if we were outside guests. We only planned to stay for about an hour, so we bought two bottles of water. Normally, we’d order beers, but every time we’ve done so in the past, they’ve had to leave the hotel to buy them from the shop, so we didn’t bother this time.
Before leaving—because our baby was about to wake up for his bottle—we paid our bill. We didn’t check it at first (our mistake), as we’ve always trusted the place. Later, we realised we’d been charged an extra 500TL simply for coming into the hotel.
It’s not about the money—it’s about the fact that we were never told about this fee, either today or last week when we spoke to the “manager” and used the pool. I’ve lived in the area for over 10 years, and most hotels—unless clearly advertised otherwise—allow you to use the facilities if you’re buying food or drinks.
Looking back, we should have taken the hint from the empty pool area and the consistently poor service. No wonder it’s always deserted.
It’s a shame, because under the previous manager/owner, we were never made to feel ripped off. Now? Avoid, avoid, avoid.
