Excellent location
Hotel located in a central position a stone's throw from the Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque.

After reading some not-too-good reviews, we were a little afraid, but the truth is that we have been delighted with this hotel.
On a personal level, everyone is super nice. Irfan and the entire restaurant team doing everything possible so that we would feel at home, even to watch the Spanish national team's match, for which they saved us a table near the TV so that we wouldn't miss anything. Ahmet both in the restaurant and at the morning buffet, with the entire team of waiters who made sure that nothing was missing at breakfast. There was a colleague of his who in the mornings made some impressive crepes (she also made omelets). I don't really know why some say there is little variety, honestly I don't understand them, obviously they are not the buffets of all-inclusive resorts, but there is everything. Toast, pastries, cakes, fruit, yogurt, cold cuts, scrambled and boiled eggs, savory items, juices,… And a small machine that makes coffees much better than in some other 4-star restaurants I have been to (which are pure water).
The reception staff was also fantastic both upon arrival (which was quite late), explaining all the services to us, and at departure where many of their workers came out to say goodbye to us.
The room was spacious and very, very clean (there were 3 of us). By noon when we went to rest it was already made, something that at some other hotel with a higher category, we have even found it unmade.
Truly a 10 for everything, but especially for all their staff for being so kind and so hospitable. When I return to Istanbul, I will undoubtedly repeat at this hotel because people who make an effort in this way deserve to be visited again.

The hotel is excellent.
The hotel was very high quality and clean, the breakfast was very good and had everything, the rooms were spacious and airy, and the food in the restaurant was also very good. Overall, it was fantastic, I would definitely recommend it.

Loved our stay at the Kate Hotel
Great location, clean and tidy hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended!

stay ruined by finding worms in the shower
TLDR;
+ location is great
+ the hotel looks nice and smells nice
+ omelette & pancakes made during the breakfast
+ new water bottles daily in the fridge
- the coffee is terrible
- the breakfast itself is okay, but the food display area is messy and poorly presented
- worms (drain larvae) in the shower…
- dirty shower
- loose fixtures
- very poor WiFi
Okay so this’ll be a bit of a longer one, but I want to give credit where credit is due.
There are some positives, but our experience was just ruined by finding worms/drain larvae in our shower.
The location is great if, just keep in mind that since you’re in Sultanahmet you will hear the muezzin quite a bit, especially during the first prayer (in May it’s at 4ish AM…)
The hotel itself looks good, pretty close to what it looks like on the photos plus it smells nice.
The cleaning lady replaced our water bottles daily, which is a very nice gesture.
But now for the main thing that happened - unfortunately, on the very last day we noticed that what we though was some lint from clothing/socks or some dirt, turned out to be very much alive community of drain larvae. We must’ve washed 20 or more of them in one sitting, just for them to appear again an hour or so later. (A few of them can be seen on the video)
When we raised this with the reception team, they just said that they’d look into it but there was no apology or anything.
Had we known this earlier we would’ve just canceled our stay here to find a different place, but yeah…
This I think is caused by the fact that although yes, the hotel is nice, it’s not that well maintained.
The silicone in the shower was pretty dirty, the hangers and the holder for the showerhead was also pretty loose - small things, but important
And same goes for the breakfast area. It looks nice, but the chairs are a bit dirty, the floor & tables are often “sticky”, and the presentation of the food itself is pretty poor… the selection is kinda okay, but nothing really to write about.
The WiFi is also pretty weird, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t and it’s pretty slow but that was the least of our problems
The coffee available at breakfast is pretty bad (if you decide to go for a cappuccino, do a separate shot of espresso + warm milk - tastes 20x better)
