A 3-star hotel that does not deserve them!

We were greeted at the reception by a nice person but speaks poorly German .. and not at all English and French. Which took a long time to register us. At 7:30 pm we can't find anyone at the reception.. Finally, we ring the bell and an employee arrives...(in shorts!) and tells us that he has finished his service... in an unpleasant way. However, he calls the taxi...

Josiana, our Habitat and Residence Advisor, has booked us a small hotel *** in the city centre of Basel, at 30 Birsigstrasse, with an ideal, simple and elegant calm and family atmosphere, called Hotel Birsighof Basel City Center. Welcoming was really privileged, by a family management and above all a team passionate about the job and the hospitality. We enjoyed its idyllic terrace and garden, with its small garden tables, where we had our morning breakfasts, in the form of a continental buffet and also sipped, in the evening, good glasses of Prosecco, relaxed and relaxed. Our comfortable and bright rooms, among the 24, overlooked either the garden or the small forest. At your disposal, in the lobby of drinks, snacks, newspapers and magazines. Not recommended if you value professionalism and a welcoming attitude. Too expensive.

An experience to avoid. The owner shows a surprising lack of professionalism and respect. His communication was unprofessional and lacked basic courtesy. There was no sense of customer care or hospitality — just rigid rules and a cold attitude.
While I understand that policies must be respected, the way they are applied makes all the difference. Unfortunately, there was no effort to communicate with respect or understanding, which is essential in this industry.
No listening, no flexibility, no effort to find a solution — just condescension and rigidity. He just wanted to keep my money.

Super location, walkable from train station. Nice area.
Helpful staff team. High quality interior/ linen. Very nice room indeed. Plenty daylight plus shutters for evenings too
