Huge potential but they can do a lot better.
One staff member at the front desk was quite dismissive.
Not enough staff on deck either in the Restaurant or the Bar area to clean up once guests left the area. So these areas were always grubby. I had to ask a staff member to clear a table so we could sit to enjoy a drink. For what you pay, this was substandard.
Rooms were clean and comfortable enough.

However, we are very sorry to learn that several aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. In particular, we regret that your interaction with a member of our Front Office team left you feeling dismissed. Providing attentive, professional, and welcoming service is something we take seriously, and we apologise that this was not your experience.
We are also disappointed to hear about the condition of the restaurant and bar areas during your stay. Guests should be able to enjoy these spaces without encountering uncleared tables or glassware, and we understand your frustration at having to request a table be cleaned before you could sit down. Meeting my disability requirements is always crucial to my stay, and the necessary adjustments were made. Sitting by the fire reading a book and sipping a cocktail is always an evening treat! Breakfasts were great too and the coffee! Staff are always cheerful and helpful.

Lovely hotel, lovely room, very comfortable. Disappointed that there was no buffet for breakfast. Waited 1hr 15 mins for breakfast after ordering at bar. would have been quicker at local restaurant.

Fine time, and a wine time by the roaring fire
A solid stay in a great location, my family enjoyed a 3 night winter escape
Things i liked
- good pillow
- warm room with temp control
- happy hour
- roaring fire in reception
- availability of connecting family rooms and willingness to make it up into any combo you want (twin singles or a queen- changed ours round in just 15mins)
- quiet at night
- availability of parking and location to all major things great
- staff were friendly
Things i didnt like
- bed too firm, like laying on a box. I put pillow under my hips to sleep
- water pressure (it was nice and hot tho!
All in all met our requirements for our escape , with a lack of family rooms in the area we may well come back- as was a lovely winter getaway
