Great experience in the new safari tent

We recently had the pleasure of staying in one of the new safari (glamping) tents at the discovery park Busselton. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, the highlight being the rain shower. We rate the shower one of the best we have encountered throughout our journey in WA. The tent also came with a generous outdoor area and only metres from the beach access path.

Moldy & Dusty Safari Tent

Family of 4 stayed 3 nights in a Superior Safari Tent. A challenge with canvas tents is mould and this tent was definitely showing it. The canvas was covered in mold and dust, as shown in the pictures. We aired the tent throughout the day to help with the dank smell, but the wet area doesn't have any way to create a good cross flow.
The shower drain was blocked up (reported to reception). This was not addressed or fixed during our stay. Despite running the shower on low, water pooled at our feet bringing up the muck, and overflowed into the room. Pictures also show clumps of hair from previous occupants.
The air conditioner kept us warm at night and very cool during the day. Hopefully its filters were clean, as the mould in the tent had us concerned.
The microwave did not heat up at all! We could not reheat or cook our food.
The indoor heated pool was nice & warm however, it too requires some maintenance as there was a lining of dirt & dead bugs surrounding the pool.
Discovery Park itself was quiet & very close to the beach. It was nice to hear the waves and great central location.
I would not recommend staying in the Safari Tents due to the aged state of the tent and its amenities.
