Crummy Central Apartments
Sadly I don’t have many good things to say about this place. I stayed here with two other families and their rooms were no better than ours. They also experienced the same level of disappointment as me.
I complained on two separate occasions about broken, faulty and hygiene related issues to our room and on both instances the front desk was very indifferent about it. They didn’t apologise, excuse themselves, offer to change rooms, or offer to settle with a refund or provide a complimentary item out of good will. It was like they didn’t care that I was unhappy with the poor condition of the room or that they were aware of the poor condition or the room and couldn’t be bothered dealing with it.
We had booked to stay there 5 nights and it had become the longest 5 night stay as the room began to really get on our nerves.
We were happy to leave. Which is sad as Caloundra is so beautiful. We will return to Caloundra again but there is absolutely no way that we would ever drive any where near this place again and neither should you. It isn’t even that cheap.
My concerns with the room were:
That it wasn’t cleaned properly: Still had crumbs in the corners of all the rooms (apparently the last guests were really messy and the cleaner didn’t have time to clean it properly)
Crumbs in all the kitchen draws and cupboards
A cracked power point in the kitchen
There were damp cloths left in the bath room
There were mouldy boards in the wardrobe
Cobwebs in the bedrooms ceilings
Curtains hanging off the tracks
Mould and dirt in all of the window tracks
Broken sections of wall
Peeling paint
Leaves all over the balcony
Cracked and missed slip pads around the pool area
Missing tiles around the pool

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Booked this place as part of our trip through Queensland, it looked ideal as we don't enjoy the beach so much & with what looked like a nice pool & BBQ area our decision was straight forward.
As we arrived there was a notice advising pool & BBQ area closure due to required upgrades (see image) however we was delighted to find this had not started yet. We shopped for BBQ food ready for the following evening but sadly never got the chance to enjoy. The next morning 7.30am we was awakened to drilling & hammering noises along with pool/bbq area closure which was disappointing to say the least.
At this point I wouldn't have left a bad review even though we wouldn't have booked the property knowing there was even a chance of closure, what really got me angry was the property manager LIED!!!

Hotels.com apologised for the property not caring a dam about us, all we wanted was the property to apologise although Hotels.com requested a refund, this was never our request.

Our room was assigned to another guest. We arrive at 5:30pm, the office was supposed to close at 6pm. No one was there. They ran out of rooms and so gave us a smaller room. We had our children with us and would not fit. So we had to scramble at the last minute and find another room. It was 12/31 so I can understand it was booked but then we had to scramble on a very busy night.
