Daughter’s wedding

We were here for our daughter’s wedding, plenty of room for everyone to get ready. Regency Beach Club very central to everywhere, whether you’re walking or driving. We had a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom house with 3 couples, 1 child n 1 baby, very very roomy. Could have done with more cleaning eg. Under beds, under lounge.

Quantity not quality.

The accommodation which is rented out by a management team at Regency Beach Club needs to be upgraded.
When the reception was unattended over the weekend there is a phone number given to call, however, when you call the suggested number, there is a message saying that this service does not allow you to leave a massage!
We booked number 28B (back row) and number 3 (front row) for a large group of family and friends during the middle of winter. The view was wonderful from number 3 even though the weather was very wintery outside it was lovely to have the space inside to relax and enjoy our family and friend's company.
We had planned on having a BBQ the first night but couldn't find a gas lighter to not only light the BBQ but also the cooktop. We had bought matches and used these instead but were unable to light the grill on the BBQ due to logistics. The gas bottle ran out of gas halfway through cooking but luckily there was a backup one which needed to be swapped over leaving the steak to go cold in the meantime. The dishwasher stopped working as we later found out it was clogged up and wouldn't empty. So, what was going to be a relatively domestic chore free weekend started with washing up for 12 people. One of the remotes for one of the TVs had batteries which had passed their used by date and had battery acid all around them. The next morning the management was notified about the dishwasher and the possible need for a plumber plus a need for gas lighters and a TV remote which worked. By 3.30pm neither had appeared so off to reception again to wait for the manager to come by as he was not able to be reached on his phone. Gas lighters x 2 were given to us, batteries were changed in the remote, but still didn't work, plumber arrived and fixed the dishwasher and new gas bottle swapped over by the manager.
One of the rooms air-conditioning began with warm air for a few hours on the first day but then was blowing out cold air. We didn't find out till the end of our stay as the quests in this room didn't let us know until they were leaving. We let the manager know.
House 3 had advertised a fire downstairs which would have added to a warm ambiance within the house as the weather outside was wet and windy and cold, however, it was out of order. The fire upstairs apparently worked but had a heavy 3-seater sofa with it's back to it so wasn't contusive to sitting in this room and using the fire. The walk-in cool room would have been useful to keep the copious amounts of food we had for guests, but this was out of order also.
House 28B only had a couple of problems. The internal door handle broke off downstairs and made it difficult to exit on the ground floor. The room which my son slept in had mold patches on the ceiling which appeared to have there for some time and probably due to a leaking pipe in the roof.

Great location.

Organised by Jasmine from Hollistic Hen, we had Villas 15A and 15B - group of 8 ladies celebrating a special birthday. The villas were amazing, so spacious and well appointed. I scored the main upstairs bedroom with ensuite and spa - so nice. There are 4 bedrooms in each villa so we had our own rooms. 3 bathrooms in each villa so no one has to wait. Balcony on each level overlooking manicured lawns. The whole resort is well set out so you don't feel you are on top of your neighbours. 2 carparks per villa. Nice pool (didn't use the gym). Friendly reception. Villas are not serviced during your stay so we had to top up on tea, coffee and almost ran out of toilet paper. No milk supplied so bring your own. Short walk in to town for shopping and cafes/restaurants. Resort is right on the beach, no roads to cross. Just a beautiful spot and we had the most wonderful weekend. We will be back.

Bookclub girls three day break

Fantastic stay with a group of eight ladies in two houses 21, and 23 both houses stunning. I stayed in 21 and can't praise it highly enough. The management team also very helpful . Short walk to restaurants and shops. The beach is at your doorstep.

Be selective about the house, standards declining

I’ve stayed here many times over the last 10 years. The houses are large and excellent for big groups but in recent years they’re really showing their age and the prices can’t be justified. Some of the houses are still excellent but others are still very expensive and don’t have basics like aircon in all rooms, decent coathangers, reasonably equipped kitchens etc. you’ll generally get 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 spare bin bag and a small bottle of shampoo - none of which is enough for a family sharing a house for a few days. For the prices you shouldn’t have to bring these items. You need to check all this detail before booking a house as every house is different. I’ve stayed in summer with no aircon in bedrooms and it’s unbearable and stayed in winter with no heating in bedrooms and it’s freezing. The wifi is also shocking and many houses have very basic TVs so you can’t rely on being able to watch anything if the wifi isn’t working. I really like the location and the grounds are always well kept but just ask a few questions before booking to make sure it suits your needs and is worth the money ($900/night for the cheaper houses in summer holidays). If they just did some general improvements to make sure the basics were in all houses the prices could be justified and it would be 10/10 every time
