Situated in parkland area away from Geelong CBD. Quiet area. Hotel was very comfortable with bar & dining area. Staff at check in were helpful & provided good detail of hotel facilities. Room was clean & comfortable. A good nights stay. Free parking was easily accessed. Dinner at the restaurant was very tasty & the breakfast included in my room price was also nice.

The lady on reception was outstanding, was caring and understanding as I was in Geelong to attend a funeral for a close family member.

Great set up for Breakfast. Room had a few maintenance issues, such as shelf in bathroom needs tightening up. Toilet brush falling apart.

Embrace the quirks, and you’ll love it!

The Eden Oak is unusual in many ways. The sprawling layout is a little daunting at first, but once directions are “imprinted”, it works quite nicely. It is as if the architect was given a totally free hand, and that approach will inevitably produce some quirks (not to hate, just to go with). We booked a two-bedroom apartment; a travel companion pulled out, but with the non-refundable pre-pay, we went with it and were really delighted with what we found. Very spacious, well appointed, and even a private deck opening out onto the glorious parkland setting that surrounds the Eden Oak. And, the bed was REALLY comfortable!
There are so many quiet places to sit, ponder, and relax. The outdoor pool and spa were suitably heated. The pool tables on the mezzanine floor were fun too. The Thai restaurant we approached with caution, but the food was really terrific, well presented, tasty, and generous servings.
An odd surprise was to find that the buffet breakfast was actually included. Even looking back at the booking process, I can find no mention of this, but it was a good offering and a pleasant surprise.
The place is crying out for some quirky art and sculpture to capitalise on the real potential of the architecture. Even streaming some art through the large screen TVs everywhere would help.
All up, we loved it, and it has become our first pick for the next stay in Geelong.
