Basic, clean and convenient property to stay at.
Free parking is a must. Close to the CBD of Melbourne and more importantly the MCG.
Have stayed at CEA twice now.
Nothing flash just nice and comfortable accommodation.

If you like a clean hotel..this is NOT for you

If you like a clean apartment-this place is not for you!
Apart from the location, which does come with quite a few unsavoury characters, it’s being close to the city sporting grounds, would be its best feature. We were in apartment 11 upon arrival. I actually tried to get a refund as I didn’t feel safe, I did get used to it eventually but the constant looking in Neighbors across the way or being in a dark room with the blinds closed wasn’t enjoyable . I had requested cleaning products as It had been cleaned but it definitely was not clean. It had minimal utensils cups things to cook with and what was there was absolutely filthy and I did not use it however did have a dishwasher and big fridge. It had an Aircon that was taped together and the heater in the wall didn’t work so it had portable heaters. There was lots of wardrobe space.. the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned at all. There was still what seems like pubic hair in the in the bath.
The TV did not work at the best of times cut in and out of Internet and then just stopped working altogether. You’d be hard enough to find a clean surface walls had splatter marks all over them, the dryer cord has looked like blood on it & if you have a lot of luggage, have fun dragging them up three flights of stairs. The door buzzer also didn’t work however there is parking behind the building. It does say that there are guest laundry however if you want to use the laundry you need to drag your laundry 200 metres up to the city edge (main building?) I advise just taking it to a laundromat. I’m not sure but I think they do their own laundry (bed sheets etc) as there is laundry bags absolutely everywhere. Bedsheets didn’t fit on the bed and there was a hole in the side of my mattress otherwise generally comfy. A couple of the staff were friendly but housekeeping was basically nonexistent. Even walking up to your apartment your feet stuck to the ground. It’s a shame because this place if maintained and updated would be really nice. Seems like they lost their passion for it.
Value for money I’m not too sure about that.

WORST ACCOMMODATION EXPERIENCE EVER

THIS WAS THE WORST ACCOMMODATION EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD – PLEASE RECONSIDER STAYING HERE.
We checked into City Edge Serviced Apartments East Melbourne on 7 March 2026 and left almost immediately due to serious concerns about safety and cleanliness. The room bore no resemblance to the photos shown online or on their website.
The condition of the room was unacceptable, including a disconnected smoke alarm (a significant fire safety risk), a broken sink, heavily stained furniture, and very poor hygiene with grimy walls and surfaces.
We returned to reception straight away to request a refund, where multiple other families and couples were already waiting to do the same due to similar issues. The hallway was full of guests attempting to leave, which strongly suggests this is not an isolated problem.
We did not stay in the room at all and were forced to urgently book alternative accommodation at significant additional cost.
For a stay that cost approximately $370, the condition of the room was completely unacceptable.
We have raised this with both the property and the booking provider and have still not received a resolution. We are now pursuing this matter further, including a chargeback through our bank and formal complaints to the relevant authorities.
Based on our experience, I strongly recommend avoiding this property entirely, particularly if you expect basic standards of safety, cleanliness, and maintenance.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay on 7 March. We take fire safety very seriously; our maintenance team has since inspected the unit and confirmed the smoke alarm is fully operational. Regarding the room condition, we aim to provide budget-friendly options and our photos are representative of our various room types. As the booking was non-refundable and the room was available for use, we cannot offer a refund at this time.
Very Best

Antisocial behaviour that the management didn't care about

I stayed here overnight. While I was staying, some Russians were making a ruckus with appliances while blasting Dancing In The Moonlight at full volume. I called reception and they said someone would be over. Guess what? No one came! Just a minor inconvenience compared to the stains on the bed, cannabis smells in the kitchen and mould in the shower.

Sparsely furnished, difficult to park, queen bed was two single mattresses on a queen base. Couch had been drawn on. Check in overtly elaborate in needing to attend a different hotel to get the key first. Breakfast advertised not available
