Budget with a bathroom

The room requires a code and the second day they reset so needed to use a random key that was in the room.
Overall an okay room, the only benefit is this is one of only a very few budget accommodations in Orange with a private bathroom.
Throughout the night on both nights, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke either from outside or the room next door that came through into my room.
Not a luxury hotel but you pay for what you get.
Would probably stay here again, but only due to the private bathroom.

BE WARY: Booking organised weeks ago cancelled at short notice

On July 13, I booked a four night stay at Kite Street Units on Orange for october 23-27. It has taken the managers two months to phone me on sept 16 to say that they had to cancel my booking due to a double booking. They refused to provide written confirmation or have the decency to issue an apology. Nor did they provide an alternative accommodation option, leaving me in the lurch at short notice. I've been forced to scramble to find alternative accommodation at much higher prices due to the short notice and it being a busy tourist period for the town. The venue is operated by the same management who run the Gladstone Hotel in Orange. Im writing this review to make other travellers heading to Orange aware of Kite Street Unit/Gladstone Hotel.

Never again.

Rooms are so rundown and shabby, broken tiles in the bathroom, no shower screen door or curtain so water goes everywhere, no wardrobe to hang your clothes. Our room smelt as soon as we entered. Don’t know how this place gets a 2.5 rating !! Need to put it out there for others to know. The only good thing,, it’s a short walk to town.

Don't recommend, and not suitable for travellers

So may things wrong with unit - windows don't stay open, broken tap in basin, bedside light didn't work, had to adjust shower as was spraying everywhere, one of the beds was past use by date as well as pillows. Noise was also an issue.
Not suited to travellers - no toaster, crockery or cutlery.
Overpriced for what you get.

Not an enjoyable experience

The units are nothing like the pictures. It's actually joined to a hotel in the middle of the busy town. The rooms were small and pokey, and there was noise from cars and people coming and going all night. Suspect people standing around on the verndahs was very uncomfortable so all in all not an enjoyable experience.
