Fabulous
I rarely splurge on accommodation but the Hotel de la Couple was worth it. We moved from our previous accommodation outside of town as the weather prediction was for rain, more rain, and more rain. But that wasn't an issue at the Hotel de la Couple as we were quite happy to stay inside for most of our stay. Wespent a delightful few days lounging in our gorgeous room, eating delicious food in the restaurant, and sampling a wide range of cocktails. The Bill Bensley designed hotel combines French Empire touches with haute couture details and local textiles in an unusual and eclectic manner. It's hard to say what we enjoyed the most although the breakfasts were amongst the best in Vietnam and the French and high Vietnamese cusine was superb. I would return in a flash!

A Fascinating Stay in the Clouds of Sapa
I stayed for a few nights at Hôtel de la Coupole – MGallery during the cooler autumn-winter season in Sapa, and the hotel left a very distinctive impression.
Designed by Bill Bensley, the hotel creatively brings together French Indochine, haute couture and the culture of Sapa’s hill tribes. I particularly enjoyed discovering the fashion-inspired details, the stylized traditional hats, bold colors, fabrics and decorative objects throughout the interiors. The arrival lobby is especially theatrical and memorable.
The design is fascinating, although at times I felt the extensive collection of vintage clothing, memorabilia and mannequins, combined with rather subdued lighting, could make some spaces feel slightly mysterious or even a little haunting. A touch more lighting in certain areas might bring greater warmth while preserving the hotel’s dramatic character.
Food also left me with a very fond memory. I particularly loved the hotel’s homemade plum wine and grilled cơm lam — simple local flavors, but surprisingly addictive. I can still remember the taste.
The staff were elegant, warm, friendly and always helpful.

Great hotel in the best location
We took sleeper bus from Hanoi HK company excellent they take you to your chosen hotel too
Stunning hotel in best location check in went smoothly Lovely room & gorgeous large bed
Shower was perfect too. The swimming pool a must was a very hot day so was brilliant to cool down in such a beautiful pool
We also visited the roof top bar area lovely views too
We had a disturb night sleep due to noisy air con fan they kindly changed the room.
Breakfast was amazing so much choice eggs to go so tasty too
We took advantage of the wow pass so pleased we did was super large Qs we skip them all the way to the top so worth the small extra cost.
Stunning hotel highly recommend staying would definitely go back too

grave security measures failure
Very disappointing experience at Hotel de la Coupole Sapa, MGallery.
I locked my backpack, containing valuables, my wallet and house keys, in a swimming-pool locker before going to Fansipan. I had also reported that several locker keys were missing.
When I returned around 4 p.m., my locked locker was unlocked, with what appeared to be a spare key still inserted in the lock. I had taken my own key with me. Other lockers with missing keys also appeared to have spare keys inserted.
I reported this serious security concern to management and requested to leave that evening.
After I submitted a formal written complaint, the response became extraordinary. The Front Office Manager, Mr. D.G.H., refused to let me stay in the Executive Suite that had already been allocated to me and instructed front-desk staff to call the police if I remained in the hotel.
I had committed no offence. I had simply made a formal complaint about the security of my belongings.
I was ultimately forced to leave the hotel late at night.
I still have no satisfactory explanation for who opened my locked locker, why it was opened, or why the spare key was left in the lock.
For me, this goes far beyond poor customer service. It concerns guest security and the way a legitimate complaint was handled by hotel management.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here carefully consider this experience.
