Excellent stay

We found this place very good in every way - room was clean, lovely and warm and spacious. We got free internet access, there was very handy information on the dressing table and the breakfast was absolutely lovely
Can't fault the place at all

Spacious rooms but not a hotel & dirty

We stayed here because we had to be in Bristol. At first a weird smell hits you as you enter and it is tired. This cannot be classed as a hotel more a guest house. Our room was spacious enough but the headboard was barely attached to the bed and sitting on the bed made it bang against the radiator. The dust off the headboard was easily a months worth. I had to clean it with a wet wipe. The toilet was squashed behind Louvre doors and is adequate for a small person not a tall man. The mat for the shower was so dirty I wouldn’t wash here, the room was mouldy and dirty. The rooms are noisy at front but that’s just due to location and can’t be helped. Parking is limited in the car park and it’s round the back by great outdoors on a housing estate. We had to park on the road. There is some sort of building work going on at the moment. We had small towels provided in the room. The breakfast was average, wouldn’t rate it good or bad. The bar can’t be classed as a bar, but we didn’t use it. As someone else said the sheets were marked. I think they need more help keeping it up together and maybe a new cleaner. There was an inch of dust on the WiFi info and a not so friendly sign in the room warning of £100 charge for smoking. We don’t smoke but even so it’s not the friendliest notice. My biggest issue was the bed and headboard, and the dust. With asthma I’d at least expect it clean. The curtains as someone else said are see through the main outside lights got switched off at 12pm so eventually our room went dark. I don’t like to leave poor ratings but I was really disappointed, it at the very least should be clean

Nice as a Base

As the other reviews say, it is dated and in need of a refurbishment. I stayed in room 05. The rooms however are clean. I stayed in a single room and it had a bit of a water stain by the ceiling.
The TV had an antenna but it picked up no signal.
The Bathroom was dated but the water was hot, and it had plenty of space.
The bed was comfortable, but the headboard freaked every time I moved.
The wifi connection was very strong and never cut out. Could stream and download everything can.
The breakfast was a full English, it came with Bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, fried tomato and beans, with toast. There was also cereal, and fresh fruit, orange juice and tea and coffee.
I had a vegetarian version that consisted of 2 hash brows, 2 eggs, 2 tomatoes and beans.
The breakfast was well cooked and very tasty. The owners were very friendly and welcoming.
All in all, you get what you pay for. It's a great base, a good distance from everything.

Ms

Cosy clean rooms. Nicely decorated and modern. Looks like it could have recently been refurbished. Comfortable bed. Good location. close to the station and shops. Attractions nearby. I would recommend and would definitely stay again

Looking sad.

Probably nice once but now desperate for a refurb and a good clean. En-suite ok if like me u are not big but there's no soap in any rooms!!!!! Shower head never been cleaned, label still on toilet from when replaced, carpet not very clean, I was thinking it ok for one night but probably not. On the plus side nice breakfast.
