Welcoming and friendly staff

2nd time staying as we throughly enjoyed it the 1st time.
Lovely staff who are all very polite friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely and clean.
Breakfast was very good.
This is now are favourite place to stay

Perfect location, breakfast and lovely staff

The hotel is perfectly located and the staff were all lovely. Breakfast was fantastic! The rooms could do with a bit of a revamp but we're perfectly adequate and clean. Amazing history and breakfast in a 700 year old banqueting hall was a treat.

Unpleasant

Nasty experience with itchy skin rash for likely bedbug infestation. Ruined the whole experience. No response when matter was raised with hotel.

A charming historical hotel with a warm and friendly welcome!

Perfect for our short stay in Colchester. The location couldn´t be more central. We were warmly welcomed by the lady on reception, which I forgot to take her name. She ensured our bags would be in our room as we arrived early and went off to explore. The hotel is alive with history in every little crook and cranny. Just wonderful! The charm flowed into our room, where we received full tea and coffee facilities and toiletries. In the morning we sat in the majestic dinning hall and enjoyed a hearty breakfast. The welcoming staff ticked every box customer experience journey. Thank you for making us feel really welcome. We will definitely be booking this hotel the next time we visit Colchester! Thank you!

Would never stay again the check in was a joke took 1.5 hour to get in was a big delay bed was way to high saw that i had problem walking could not get on the bed did not bave breakfast could not wait to get out1
