The Adelphi is getting better all the time.

The main rooms are stunning. Wonderfully refurbished but old style grandeur maintained. Public toilets have at last been renovated, redesigned and very clean. Many bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard of comfort, safety, cleanliness. Bathrooms are slowly being converted into walk in shower rooms. The breakfast food choice is freshly cooked and very tasty. All staff I met were cheerful, polite, professional, hard working. My room was on 5th floor so not yet refurbished. That was not a problem for the 2 nights I stayed in it. But I would request the head of housekeeping to check more closely on hygiene and insist on a monthly deep clean in the bathroom. The floor around the toilet was very dirty and the bathmat was covered in mould. These 2 issues prevent me giving higher marks.

Perfect stay, no regrets

This is an amazing hotel, we are taking away beautiful memories. Some minor issues overshadowed by the incredible opulence. Suggestions for others:
Windows difficult to open/close - ask a friend to help.
Haunted lifts - they do what they want, take your time and enjoy the experience.
No hairdryer in rooms - but there is a fan.
Beds not the best - have a large glass of red in the grand lounge before bed, not to be missed.
Honestly we loved it and it the hotel is not in perfect condition but the staff were great and we would return. Great location, great value.

Truly Shocking – Would Not Stay Again

Truly Shocking – Would Not Stay Again
Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived.
The hotel was incredibly busy due to Beatles Week, with visitors attending from all over the world. Despite this being a major and presumably well-known event, check-in was chaotic. There were three large groups of people waiting to check in and only one member of staff on the desk. Not a great first impression at all.
Things only got worse when we got to the room. It was very scruffy, tired and badly in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was particularly shocking – there was a broken tap and mastic/sealant everywhere. It looked like repairs had simply been patched up rather than properly maintained. To top it off, the TV didn't work either.
Breakfast the following morning was another huge disappointment. The food was cold and of very poor quality. For a hotel dealing with such a large number of guests, the standard was simply unacceptable.
What amazes me most is that during Beatles Week, when Liverpool is welcoming visitors from all over the world, the hotel considers this level of accommodation and service acceptable. It certainly doesn't give visitors a very good impression.
We booked through Booking.com and hadn't realised beforehand that this was a Britannia Hotel. Had we known, we wouldn't have booked it.
Overall, the whole experience was truly shocking. Poor check-in, a scruffy and badly maintained room, broken facilities and terrible breakfast. We certainly won't be returning.

Don’t bother!

Please do not waste your money here! Firstly we were given the smallest room after booking a twin room for myself and my friend, and the beds hadn’t been separated, when I separated the bed there was an electric socket hanging off and the window wouldn’t open and it was a hot day, I asked to moved rooms and was lied to by the guy on reception, and then again by the manager until I asked for a refund then they found a room after being told on several occasions they were fully booked!
Had to move rooms past midnight now, and the lift wasn’t working so that was a pain, then a lady had a dog in the next room with her which had left dog mess all over the carpet and people walking in it! The lady and her dog were now being removed by security! I went to report to the reception who didn’t seem bothered at all.
The second day my friend had to unblock the toilet herself and it was overflowing, we went to report it and when I asked if we could have another room to shower in it was another no! No offer of help or clean towels, as these were now being used to stop the toilet overflowing! The reception said to me “what do you want me to do about it” when I asked for help!
About an hour later maintenance came to the rescue but advised this was a weekly routine for them as toilets are always blocking!
Been nearly 3 weeks now and trying to sort out my refund, only been offered £50 for a 2 nights stay after all the issues we had! The list goes on but haven’t got time to list them all here, I have chased Lucinda regarding my refund and had radio silence! Poor customer service from the hotel staff and now from customer service team! This place needs knocking down, please do you homework before booking, what with health and safety court case due to a young lady dying here recently! Shameful and not acceptable to be taking peoples hard earned money cash and putting peoples health at risk!

Historical Grandeur

What an Experience to Stay in this most Iconic Hotel, with a Unique History.Treated like some of the celebrities who have frequented this wonderful example of 20th Century Luxury by Oskar on reception and by Ali Yildiz at the desk .The grandeur of this hotel makes new modern hotels look utterly basic.
Everyone should feast their eyes on the hotel and go on a tour of the banqueting suites.
We had a great breakfast alongside 500 other lucky guests .
Staff here still have old fashioned standard of courtesy and customer service I can't wait to return Thanks to all
