Brilliant staff and entertainment

Another enjoyable stay thanks to the new Manager Michael, and his team, especially Maddison in the bar who provided great service with a wicked sense of humour, she always remembered our order and always served with a smile. Our waiter Leeam in the dining room was amazing with his ability to remember everyone’s orders and special requirements , both of these members of staff are a credit to the company and are real people persons. We should also mention Tracy in the coffee shop who provided us with lots of local information to assist us on our trips out. Brilliant entertainment especially from Sami Brookes (and Daz her roadie) along with Ging A Ling, who we had seen before, and were every bit as good as we remembered , with songs that were enjoyed by all of the audience. Good choice of menu and always served piping hot, which may have been down to Leeam, who we nicknamed Speedy Gonzales
The only disappointment was our room which needed a major refurbishment, with the smallest bathroom space we’ve ever seen anywhere, you had to take the bathmat in with you, as the door wouldn’t open while it was laid, and pick it up again before you could get out. The sink was in the bedroom, which was not ideal, but the worse thing was the shower that was temperamental, and changed from normal to either freezing cold or scalding hot. We did report it and hopefully it will soon be rectified. Despite this we had a great holiday that was excellent value for the money.

Not bad but could do so much better

The hotel is in a great location but has gone downhill in my opinion.
The room was small and overlooked a brick wall and house from the kitchen extractor was awful.
The bathroom? Was very small and I could just about able to get in the shower. Silly little bathtowels. Only 4 hangers in the wardrobe.
The food was just about edible but the presentation was awful. Reminiscent of school dinners, just slapped on the plate. They supplied a hot water jug for you to make your own tea or coffee. Very heavy and not good if you are elderly. Our waitress, Sammy, was lovely and very obliging.
The lounge that overlooked the front has gone and is now part of the dining room, so you have very little area to sit with friends when you come back in. The Coffee shop was small but the lady was very efficient and worked really hard. She needs help.
The entertainment in the evening wasn't bad and the bar prices were reasonable.
Llandudno itself was lovely and flat for walking around.
Apparently, the manager had only been there a week and was aware of the problems so hopefully can turn things around.

Value for money holiday.

I admit that the hotel is tired and in need of redecoration but I think in the light of the economic climate that it would cost too much as its a very large hotel. I took my Mother for a birthday gift and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely and helpful and worked very hard, the rooms were clean. The entertainment was ideal for the ages of the guests and put on a good show. It was good having a little quiz and bingo especially as we both won!! Drinks were average prices, and the food served was enough and a reasonable choice so good value all round for the total holiday. The flow of shower water was a lot to be desired but it wasn't a big deal. If you wanted a 5 star experience then you have to be prepared to pay for it. It was a good value for money holiday.

Lovely holiday.

We just returned and the whole holiday was great value for money. Don't believe the bad reviews if you want the Ritz experience then pay the Ritz prices . The hotel was clean the food was excellent . All the staff very friendly and very helpful. Nothing to much trouble for any of them.
Our star member of staff for our stay was waitress Laylia. Always polite smiling and helpful with all holiday makers and lovely to the older generation .

Terrible hotel

Hotel very dated and double room was filthy , stained mattress , crumbs in drawers , stains on chairs and walls , smelt very musty , staff were rude not very good people skills , we felt very uncomfortable , food was awful not much choice and bland , processed meat and either overcooked food or undercooked , to the point where we ended up going out for meals , 2 members of staff walked out while we stayed there and staff were constantly moaning about other staff , the hotel was not comfortable or clean upstairs , other visitors were saying it’s gone down as they stayed before and it’s a place you wouldn’t want to stay if you want a friendly welcome and clean room with good food , lesson learned for us cheap is not always cheerful
