Great place to stay
Greeted by the pleasant and helpful Kirsty, shown around the hotel and onto our room. We had a large and spacious room which was great as the night before in another hotel had a small room.
The room was fairly simply decorated but wardrobes, chairs and a fridge along with tea/coffee facility and a modern bathroom with shampoo/gels.
The Pub downstairs is well decorated and large spaces of rooms for eating and large patio garden. Locals use the bar and are friendly. Placed at the start of the village high street is convenient too
Breakfast is upstairs for guests where this is also a bar/lounge separate from the public if you choose. À la carte type breakfast which we slightly changed was very good quality.
Be warned of Louth….most shops are closed on a Monday

My 3 Nights here at The Kings Head Hotel Louth Lincolnshire. A lovely mini break.
My room (Room 7) was spotless, comfortable and well equipped. The double bed was very comfortable, there was a fan in the room which was especially appreciated during the warm weather, and a fridge containing fresh milk and bottled water. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided, and whenever I asked for extra tea bags, biscuits or water, the staff were happy to provide them. Nothing was too much trouble.
The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, approachable and welcoming. Everyone said hello, and I always felt comfortable asking for assistance. On arrival, a member of staff even helped carry one of my heavier bags up the stairs, which was greatly appreciated.
The hotel felt very safe and secure. Residents have key fob access for the accommodation area, and everything was clearly explained at check-in. Check-in was straightforward and check-out was easy, with the added bonus of an 11am check-out time, which is more generous than many hotels.
I actually enjoyed the exercise from the stairs! Living in a flat, I don’t usually have many stairs to climb, and the hotel gave me a good workout. The view from my room was lovely and added to the enjoyment of my stay.
Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection available and no pressure to rush. The food throughout my stay was very good. One evening I particularly wanted Lincolnshire sausages and chips, even though they were not on the menu that night. The staff kindly accommodated my request and the meal was absolutely superb – a definite 10 out of 10.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely planting around the property, a fantastic beer garden and a comfortable residents’ lounge. The atmosphere throughout was relaxed and welcoming, with people of all ages enjoying the pub and hotel facilities.
The location is excellent. Once you step outside, you are right in the heart of beautiful Louth and can easily explore the town on foot. I found it very convenient to leave my car at the hotel and walk everywhere.
The car park was secure and easy to use. Visitors should note that you receive a token for exiting the car park, which is readily available from staff. The system worked very well and I had no problems with it during my stay.
One of the highlights of my visit was enjoying the live band Feel the Noize, who helped create a fantastic atmosphere during my stay.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the King’s Head. The combination of friendly staff, excellent food, comfortable accommodation, secure parking, great facilities and a perfect location made for a wonderful break.
10/10 – a five-star stay, and I look forward to returning.
