Beautiful hotel centrally located in Dalston. The room was great, although a bit small for two as we didn't have space to have both our suitcases open, but we made it work.
Even though Kingsland is a busy street, the room was quiet and we both slept well.
The bathroom does not have a door that can close properly; that was a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise a great place at a decent price.

We stayed in room LG03 and unfortunately found the experience disappointing overall.
As soon as we entered the room there was a noticeable mouldy or damp smell, which remained unpleasant throughout our stay. The biggest issue, however, was the noise overnight. From around midnight through to approximately 3am, we were repeatedly disturbed by people returning to their rooms and doors opening and closing in the corridor. This went on intermittently for a few hours and made it difficult to get a proper night's sleep.
There were a few other issues that added to the impression that the room and surrounding area needed more attention. When we filled the iron with water, it leaked heavily from the sides and then tripped the fuse, which was concerning. The hallway outside also had a strangely unfinished appearance, with what looked like exposed underlay rather than proper flooring. The pillows were very firm and lumpy, and the view from the room was simply of a backstreet wall and railing.
For £175 a night, the overall standard didn't feel in line with what we would expect for the price. Had the room been closer to £95–£110, many of these shortcomings would have felt easier to accept, but at £175 the combination of the smell, noise, maintenance issues, comfort and poor outlook made the stay feel overpriced.

Some staff members leave much to be desired. ApartHotel is otherwise fabulous!

The apartment was fabulous! Stunning interiors and sufficient amenities. With respect to the room, the only issues that I had really, were:
(1) I was not allocated what I had called ahead to enquire and reserve, despite being told that would be the case
(2) The USB/USB-C outlets did not work. That was resolved by borrowing a plug from reception
Otherwise, everything else worked as expected and my requirements were satisfied.
Upon checkout, there was an incident between myself and the Duty Manager - Nina - who thought it was appropriate to raise her voice at me and oversee my departure from the room, as opposed to allowing me a few minutes to gather myself. I had a late checkout and had overrun into the time due to a personal circumstance that I was tending to (which I accept full responsibility for), however, her attitude towards me was highly inappropriate and unprofessional.

Poor Customer Service and Booking Management.

Property is nice enough but the customer service is abysmal. I was checked in by Saima, whose attitude was appalling to be quite frank. Constant eye-rolling and tutting when asking questions or for adjustments.
The apartment itself was fit for purpose. Bathroom was a bit small. Aircon worked when it wanted to.
Location is dodgy but has decent transport links.

Consistently overbooked meaning you may be left without a room!!

if you booked well in advanced.
My partner had a booking at the hotel and when she arrived she was informed that whilst they had her booking the hotel was overbooked and she had no room, this was past midnight and she was alone.
how is it possible that the hotel is fully booked yet still allowing people to make bookings? She was told this is a regular occurrence, if this is a known issue then why has nothing been done to rectify this or is this the staycity standard?
This seems like pure greed on staycitys part with absolute no care for their guests.
This is a 4 star establishment I would expect much better from you, even 2 or 3 star hotels don't do this!!!
The very least you should be informing guests in the morning/afternoon about the overbooking, NOT waiting till midnight or when they show up as its not acceptable!!
