What no fry up?!

We had a lovely stay at Lochnell. Beautiful view from our room.
Enjoyable dinner.
But VERY disappointed that the breakfast lacked good old Scottish hospitality: very sparse & uninviting cold meat (no thank you) & pre-wrapped mini cheeses. Wooden bread bin containing 3 pastries & some croissants. Make your own toast. Help yourself to cereal. Tea/coffee & juice served & porridge offered.

Terrible Christmas Experience

I could go on and on in great detail about what a terrible experience our Christmas Day lunch here was….but I will just give the main points.
3pm lunch booked…starter was served at 4.20pm (!)
Main meal served at 5.30pm
Whilst we were eating our main meal - the other 2 tables in our area still hadn’t had their starters.
Asked for our dessert to be boxed up to take away because by now we were just fed up sat waiting there …but it never appeared.
Run out of food despite having emailed our orders in. Veg cold, stuffing hard as a rock.
First time venturing out for Christmas lunch in over 30years …was ruined by the Lochnell. Thank goodness a percentage and the drinks were knocked off. Didn’t help in the overall picture though.
Poor mum and dad (pensioners) felt so guilty for booking it - we travelled up from Bradford to visit them for a couple of days at Christmas …we had to keep reassuring them that it wasn’t their fault that the biggest meal of the year that everyone looks forward to was so crap. I felt so bad for them. Thanks guys. Big thumbs down.

Truly a very poor experience. Breakfast was terrible. On the second say, no pastries, no bread, no fruit. Rice crispies

Run down, badly manage and expensive for what it was. Like a business going out of business. How could they improve, get the owners to experience it.

Just be warned!

Not until you dig deep into the website do you find the included breakfast is the continental one. We were phoned 2 hours after checking out to pay for our cooked breakfast. That aside we enjoyed our stay. Our seaview room was smallish but spotlessly clean , recently refurbished and well appointed. The evening meal was very good and all the staff we met were very pleasant.

Caravan stop

An excellent pet friendly pub and hotel. Plenty of room to pull in with the caravan for a lovely meal whilst waiting for the Oban ferry. Friendly Staff and great music!
