**A 6-out-of-5 experience—and a review that simply could not be short!**
This review cannot be brief, because there were simply too many wonderful experiences that deserved to be mentioned.
Our stay at Il Cardo Resort was truly exceptional—five stars are not enough. From the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings to the warm hospitality, delicious food and unforgettable moments shared together, this was personally one of the best holidays of my life.
The resort is surrounded by nature, with lovely panoramic views and an incredible sense of peace. During the mornings and afternoons, the summer temperatures can be quite warm, making the beautiful swimming pool the perfect place to relax and cool down. In the evenings, however, the countryside becomes pleasantly fresh. Opening the windows at night and enjoying the cool summer countryside air was particularly pleasant.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed in a lovely small two-room apartment with a kitchen which can be perfect for families or couples.
The resort itself is usually wonderfully quiet and peaceful—unless, like me, you happen to visit with an amazing group of friends who enjoy singing Italian songs from the 1980s late into the evening and dancing to a very eclectic playlist! Those joyful nights became some of the most memorable moments of the holiday and added even more character to an already unforgettable experience.
The food at Il Cardo was also delicious. Enjoying tasty meals in such a beautiful and relaxing environment made every day even better, especially during the breakfast while enjoying coffee, bread, jams etc.
The location is excellent for exploring the surrounding area. Anghiari is a fascinating medieval hilltop town, known for the historic Battle of Anghiari and its connection to Leonardo da Vinci. Walking through its narrow streets, stone buildings and historic corners really gives you the feeling of stepping back into the Middle Ages.
One of our favourite experiences was enjoying an aperitivo on a terrace in Anghiari, surrounded by the town’s unique atmosphere and beautiful views. The nearby villages are also worth visiting, and the wider area offers museums, hermitages, countryside walks and natural places where you can relax or even swim in the river. Assisi can also be visited as a memorable day trip.
There is so much to see and experience that Il Cardo Resort is a wonderful choice for groups of friends, families, colleagues and solo travellers. It is peaceful enough for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge, but it is also an ideal base for curious travellers and solo adventurers who want to explore Tuscany and Umbria.
A very special thank you must go to Dania and Pierre, the owners, who put so much work, care and personal attention into hosting us. Their hospitality made us feel genuinely welcome and played an enormous part in making this holiday so relaxing and unforgettable.

Perfect!
Exceptional experience at the Il Cardo Resort. The place is magnificent, the hosts gave us a more than warm welcome. Large pleasant pool and delicious food! I recommend it!

Wonderful weekend for couple
I chose this b&b for 3 nights for New Year's Eve 2025 with my partner.
The structure is very nice, the suite we chose (the one with whirlpool) is really nice and tasteful. Large, spacious and well maintained.
The round bed is very comfortable and particular.
The very nice tub, and the fireplace next door makes everything romantic and warm.
Highly recommended!

Perfect for the soul and to slow down.
Great location, very quiet, beautiful rooms, everything feels very cozy. Very nice couple. Great breakfast and also the recommendations for activities in the area - excellent. The pool is clean. There is also an 11 kW charging option available. Simply a charming place with a house from the 14th century! Wi-Fi is also available in the garden, with many shaded areas. We are looking forward to the next 14 days. Unfortunately, the geography is very challenging, and without an e-bike, one is at a disadvantage. This applies to the entire region.
