An excellent culinary experience

I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant Walther von der Vogelweide in Chiusa, and I must say it was a fantastic experience! The dishes are of excellent quality, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented impeccably; every bite was a joy for the palate. The cleanliness of the establishment is very meticulous, making the environment welcoming and pleasant. The staff was extremely polite and courteous, always available to provide recommendations on the dishes and to make our visit even more enjoyable. Another advantage is the presence of nearby parking, which makes access to the restaurant very convenient. We were also fortunate to dine on the beautiful terrace, which offers a relaxing and charming atmosphere. It is also an ideal place for families, with menu options suitable for everyone. I highly recommend visiting Walther von der Vogelweide: a restaurant that manages to combine excellent service with great cuisine!

A lovely hotel in Chiusa-Klausen

A lovely hotel in the old town near the river. Chiusa is a small place but the hotel was in a great location for whatever you needed. You should be aware that there is no local taxi service so you will have to walk to and from the train station if you are not arriving by car (about 10 minutes but an easy, pleasant walk, even with my oversized suitcase). There was a great choice for breakfast and they have their own restaurant on site with good food at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was very spacious and comfortable. There are also local buses if you want to explore other locations - I did a day trip to Ortisei, which I highly recommend.

But can you be a hotelier?

I booked a room in June for November , confirmed again in September , two weeks before the trip they send me an email ( they didn't even think to call me ) telling me that they have the wrong date of my reservation and that therefore room 3 is no longer available . I contact them by phone and I clash with the total lack of interest in an inconvenience caused me by their incompetence , the receptionist, very rude, almost laughs at me saying that he can not do anything and closes the phone. Result , ruined holiday , I had to give up the trip because it was weekend of Christmas markets and hotels all full .45 years that I come to South Tyrol and nothing like this has ever happened to me . Highly discouraged!

Loved the small German Village atmosphere, awesome German-Italian food, bakery, shops in a beautiful natural landscape around the village. Staff are friendly..
