Highlight stay of our Calabrian road trip

What a highlight of our road trip staying in the beautiful historic fishing village area called ‘Chianalea di Scilla’. I had great communication with Il Casato Deluxe Rooms prior to our arrival & arranged parking outside of the old town area & also to make a dinner reservation at their highly regarded restaurant. As parking in the old town area is limited, we were very glad that we booked to park in the hotels secure parking lot & be picked up by a shuttle – it made our arrival & departure very easy & stress free. We loved our ‘Deluxe Double Room with Sea View’ – spacious, comfortable & how beautiful in the early hours of the morning watching fishermen leaving the port out on that beautiful sea. The breakfast each morning was delicious (best fried eggs of our trip), the staff were all so friendly & helpful too. The Chianalea area is just gorgeous & so pretty – it is even better in real life than the photos. The beach was a walk on the other side of the point – lots of steps up & down – or you can catch the lift from the main square. Lots of options on the stony beach to rent lounges & umbrellas – beautiful crystal clear water too. Another highlight of our stay was dining in the restaurant………really excellent seafood, plus the stunning evening view made it a special night.

Recommended!

Our room was the one with a window and a direct view of the sea. Charming and characteristic, but also clean and well-furnished. We stayed only one night, just enough to visit Scilla and Chianalea. We also recommend this place for the courtesy, unfortunately not a given today, of those who manage it and those who work there. The price is perhaps a tad high, but certainly in line with those of the area in high season.

Great hotel in Chianalea

Lovely hotel in the alleys of Chianalea.
Spacious room on the 2nd floor, with a huge window overlooking the sea.
Beautiful view.
Clean hotel with all amenities.
Restaurant on the seaside platform: excellent seafood cuisine.
All staff helpful and courteous.

Absolutely perfect stay with stunning views!

My wife and I stayed here on our first trip to Italy! This place is amazing and the views are stunning! We had a sea view room with a balcony and it was perfect! The balcony let you look out over the ocean and the waves were crashing right below the balcony! The room was smaller but absolutely perfect for this place! The restaurant in the hotel is a hidden gem and the atmosphere is stunning. Food was delicious and the staff is great! Gina our morning breakfast hostess and room maid made our stay so welcoming and comfortable! She was a great addition to the hotel! We will definitely be back again!
