The EGO hotel was a wonderful stay that was both easy to get to as well as leave from there to the airport.
We only had to climb one flight of stairs from that to the hotel from the water bus which is an absolute win. Follow that up with the bus to get to the airport was just moments away made this location prime for travelers on a short stay.
The hotel itself had some quirks but was overall a fantastic stay. Very clean, very spacious rooms and the bathroom had great amenities.
The front desk staff was always very helpful and nice and spoke great English.

Location matters most

We took the water taxi from the airport and got off right in front of the hotel (Rialto stop). Great way to start. The hotel is small, we actually upgraded ourselves to a bigger room. The air-conditioning worked great! Comfortable bed and bath. The toilet seat was broken, I told the desk attendant, they were aware. We didn't buy breakfast at the hotel, glad that we didn't because there are so many cafes around with Venice ambiance The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main square. Shops, restaurants, gelato all within walking distance. The same water taxi goes all over, we used it to get to our cruise port.

Overpriced for what you get.

Location is the best thing about the hotel. Breakfast is superior. It’s not a 4*. There are no amenities. Room was smaller than expected. Bed comfortable. Toilet seat broken-desk said yes we know, one is on order, shower leaks-we’ll give you extra towels. The desk person does everything, ice, books restaurants etc.
we needed to return home earlier than intended, but would only reduce our cost by 1 night , not 2 as we requested. Would choose a different hotel on grand canal. Lots of other choices-for less money.

Great location, wonderful boutique hotel.

Traveling with friends, who stayed at another hotel. The EGO was just a wonderful Venice hotel. Old world charm, but spacious room, modern bathroom, a truly marvelous breakfast room overlooking the Grand Canal. My room overlooked the smaller canal, but when on my small balcony I could see the Grand Canal, and it was fun watching the gondolas parade beneath my balcony. Very close to the Rialto Bridge, and a shady and easy walk to St. Mark's Square. Despite its excellent location, very quiet at night, and even during the day very little could be heard inside my room. Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating, and there is someone at reception 24/7. I highly recommend!

Excellent Hotel

What a great hotel. We would stay here again. The service was above and beyond. The rooms were beautiful. Location exceptional!
