Stunning hotel, amazing pool and attentive staff
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this stunning hotel and can’t wait to return. Our room overlooking Venice was beautiful, very bright, with lots of character & we had a lovely surprise of a room upgrade & champagne & strawberries for our special wedding anniversary. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast which was stunning with an amazing choice of food & drink and being able to sit out on the terrace in the sun just topped it off. The pool is beautiful, the most stunning setting, very clean and so relaxing. Fabulous complimentary boat transfer to Venice which is a great experience and the Lido is lovely to get away from the hustle & bustle of Venice. Also easy to get the ferry from the airport to the Lido if you don’t want to pay for a private water taxi. Miss this hotel already and can’t wait to return!

Disappointing
I booked Hotel Excelsior for my husband’s birthday. I booked a Premium Room, but unfortunately, the room and bathroom do not look as elevated as in marketing photos (no decorative pillows, no couch, different style shower).
I asked for champagne and a cake in our room for a surprise for my husband. The cake (very lovely) came late and I also had to follow up for the champagne.
Additionally, I asked multiple times to reserve a cabana via email and it was not confirmed. I have been instructed to go down and speak with the beach club tomorrow morning.
I think the exterior of the property is beautiful and the staff is friendly, but it is severely lacking the level of service that I assumed the hotel would provide. I would also be cautious as rooms do not resemble what is marketed online.
I do not know if I would reserve this hotel had I known otherwise that we would be in an older room and that service would be so lacking.

A historic beach and movie hotel. Newly refurbished, beautiful serene atmosphere. Restaurant food not quite worth the price. But still our favourite hotel in Venice.

Elegance on Lido Beach
Loved this hotel! The entire staff was super helpful with anything we needed. The breakfast couldn’t be better and we also enjoyed lunch and dinner at the different restaurants. The pool was popular but we were never left without seating. The rooms were very comfortable and I enjoyed our Venice view from the balcony. We used the fitness center as well and found that it met all of our cardio and weight lifting needs. Access to Venice was super easy via the frequent hotel shuttle or water taxi service that the hotel will gladly arrange. We didn’t love the beach (the sand) but the sea was still nice to look at. We would definitely stay here again.

Excelsior Venice Lido Fam Trip
This iconic beach resort is home to the 1932 First Venice International Film Festival and remains the host hotel for events in the spectacular ballroom (featured in film in Once Upon a Time in America with Robert DeNiro, 1984. We enjoyed a recreation of the scene setting and had a superb "theme" dinner in Sala degli Stucchi Ballroom!
