Charming property in Tuscany
Liked · The hotel looks like a dream, it is an incredibly charming property, this residence was once a Medici hunting lodge. You can really feel that you're staying in a piece of history, as the manor still has all of its authentic charm.
We stayed in the Chianti Riserva suite, which is a very spacious suite with separate bedroom, seating area and an enormous badroom, and it has great views of the property.
The bed was very comfortable, probably the best sleep we had during our entire trip.
The property is gorgeous and very well maintained. We did not use the pool during our stay, but it also looked great!
We also pre-booked a tour and tasting of the Dianella winery and their wines, and we really enjoyed it! The wines are very tasty and have a good value, so we bought a few bottles to take home to enjoy later.
We had dinner in the restaurant once, which we enjoyed with a bottle of the Dianella Chianti Riserva wine. The view from the restaurant terrace overlooking the Tuscan hills is just breathtaking, day and night!
The staff of this resort and the restaurant are very friendly and welcoming.
Disliked · For a resort at this price level, some things could have definitely been improved to make the experience more perfect.
First of all, our toilet did not flush. After using the toilet, we had to lift the heavy lid in order to get it to function, which is really not acceptable. We pointed this out at the reception the first morning, and while they said they were going to check it out, it seems like nothing happened. Of course, it is possible that the problem could not be solved right away, but it would have only been the proper thing to do to give us a heads up and ideally a small compensation for the inconvenience.
Breakfast was neatly presented and super fresh, but the options were very limited. You could order egg or toast dishes freshly prepared but these were all at a surplus of 10-15 EUR, which feels a bit outrageous considering the price you pay per night.
There was also no complementary water bottle in our room, this is a small detail but it can make a big difference in overall hospitality.

Brunch Easter Monday
We went to Easter Monday brunch. Starting from the positives, the place is really very nice and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, however, the experience did not meet expectations, in fact both from the poster and at the time of booking had been described a brunch with the "classic Dianella proposals", accompanied by additional hot dishes. In fact we were faced more with a buffet lunch than a real brunch. We expected a greater variety of sweet and savoury (also in line with what we saw online), while the offer mainly included cold cuts, cheeses, a savoury pie and some hot dishes. The sweet part was very limited (only eggs and a chocolate and cinnamon puff pastry).
The quality of the food was good, but for 58€ per person the offer did not seem consistent with what was promised. It all ended with an avoidable episode at checkout: the bill for two was 116€ and, paying in cash, not having them change in change I added 1€ to facilitate payment. As a result , there was not even the possibility of receiving a € 5 note in change . It was only possible to complete the operation thanks to a person with me. A careless management that could have been avoided with greater organization.

A mixed opinion! Some false notes
A mixed opinion! The place is beautiful. Superb villa in the middle of a beautiful garden.
A few remarks: Welcoming is very average certainly not up to the standard of an establishment. For the room we can deplore the absence of a fridge certainly there is a wine cellar (business oblige)!
Noisy air conditioning in the bedroom / no air conditioning in the bathroom and a real game of track to find a power outlet that works. Bulbs HS certainly not at the level they claim!
For the rest the restaurant is very good / very good cuisine / excellent wines / very pro and pleasant Service.

Very nice and interesting guided tour
Nice place, quiet, breathtaking view. The very friendly manager showed us around the whole villa. They produce oil and wine.

Unexpected dinner
Finally an evening with unexpected dinner. They want to offer my sincere congratulations to the chef who with professionalism was able to combine flavors enhancing the high quality raw material, but also to the sommelier, who was able to guide the choice of wines of the estate, as well as to all the staff, who with and kindness transformed the dinner, into a perfect evening.
