Clean , comfortable room , car requred

Room was clean and nice bathroom .
Parking outside my room was next rooms car and my room was next to laundry .
Pool is not available for guests. Had to pay 30$ extra for 6 year old to swim .
Stayed 6 nights and noticed locals had been given quieter rooms .
Told by staff town was a “5 min walk”
Closer to 20 , 25 min .
Bus stop at door but no info on where it went or when
Taxis not worth getting but Ubers were available and reliable.
No room cleaning in weekend .
Prolly need a rental car or own car to work well.
Some deck chairs near tennis court would be good to catch the winter sun

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you found the room to be to your satisfaction.
Every room has a car park to its immediate frontage. The vast majority of our guests value the sense of security this provides.
The pool IS available to guests from 9am - 6pm every day, except Christmas Day or as otherwise advised. We do not open it automatically during inclement weather or periods of low demand for a) safety reasons - pools are dangerous to children, and b) because we don't remove the cover unless necessary to preserve the heat in the pool. Heating it takes a lot of energy which is expensive.
We also live on site, and if we haven't already done so, we are more than happy to open the pool upon request during those hours.
Our records show the 6 year old stayed a night with you. The tariff increases with each extra guest, which is common practice in the accommodation industry. It also 'registers' that person for insurance purposes if they have an accident on-site......ie they fall and hurt themselves in the pool area. It also provides us with an accurate guest count if an evacuation is needed - ie, fire.
Our documentation and signage prominently advises that the pool cannot be used by visitors, for the insurance reason stated above.
The extra tariff you paid registered the child as a guest and afforded them protection under our insurance policy. We think that's fair.
We do not give locals preference. We treat all guests equally and rooms are assigned purely on the guest's selection and our availability. When you use an on-line travel agent (OTA) as you did, the room is actually chosen and reserved by the OTA according to the room type, information and budget supplied by the guest.
The bus service is operated by an independent company and the stop has signage advising times, routes and destinations.
When possible, room cleaning isn't done on weekends to minimise our overtime costs for payroll. This helps us keep our room tariffs reasonable, but again, we live on site and are more than happy to provide fresh towels or provide needed consumables if asked. We are constantly walking the site and available to respond to such requests.
There are two large picnic tables by the tennis court. We hope to create a specific area for them to be permanently located once the weather becomes more favourable.

Fabulous!!!

I've been on the road for over a month and this was the closest experience to the comforts of home and one of the best, if not the best, in terms of value for money. You even have the option of hanging your clothes on a Hills Hoist if you don't want to use the dryer!!! I have to sit down to shower, so the adjustable shower head height was a godsend. Deb and Craig were very welcoming and accommodating. The only downside was that I wasn't able to stay longer!
