Completely sufficient

It's enough for two nights. It doesn't have many parking spaces at the hotel, we were lucky enough to get another one. The staff is friendly, the breakfast was also adequate. It is a small hall and so we were seated at the table with other guests on the first morning. Our room was quite large, clean and the bathroom looked quite newly renovated.

Not this hotel next year.

The hotel is quite dated and rather basic. The rooms are simple but neat. Shower functions very well! What's less: no kettle to make a cup of coffee yourself and the wifi is just worthless. So make sure you have a large data bundle if you want to stream Dutch TV with, for example, an iPad. Living is certainly not quiet as far as we are concerned... We were at the front where every morning very heavy transport drove through the street. So a nice lie-in was not there. However, there was a nice balcony terrace available where you can sit in good weather. The two ladies who work in the hotel are not of German descent and you don't have to ask them about the area and the like, they don't know anything. However, because of our visual impairment, we were helped with breakfast every morning, so that was nice. Given all the experiences we find the price including tourist tax of an average of € 150 per night on the firm side. And yes, a bit childish when you have to pay extra for the bottle of water in the room. Finally, an important objection for us: after 3 pm there is no reception... We arrived in the evening and had to seek help to get our key that was in a locker. Of course not blind friendly. So for us in the future in hotel Where there is always a reception, at least until the evenings! Because if you make the far journey from the Netherlands by train, you never know exactly what time you will arrive in Oberstdorf. Not this hotel again next year.

mountain splendor !

Found thru I - Service – which proved extremely helpful - phoned four different locations since we had no cell phone available at the time - booked into Regina Hotel for 2 nights. Being the last day in the high season it still proved quite difficult to find lodging in Oberstdorf which is a very popular vacation destination not only in Winter but also in Summer with the German "wanderlust" very much in evidence. Couples, whole families or often whole groups striding along (Nordic walk) with a purpose. The Regina Hotel is situated in the heart of Oberstdorf and for Eu 104 Breakfast included (terrific breakfast) - it offers a neat double room on the second floor (#25) - no elevators (a rarity in Germany it seems in Pensions and Hotels with less than 4 floors) - modern bath - balcony facing the rear with a view to the Nebelhorn Mountain range - - free parking if lucky enough to catch one of 6 spots. Nice outdoor Cafe/Restaurant next door. Bell tower two blocks away. Very pleasant attendant - overall great place.
Oberstdorf is an enchanting place, the Centre of town is almost exclusively pedestrian area unless you are a resident with ample parking close to the Centre. On a clear day the surrounding mountain ranges are absolutely breathtaking. I wish I could have stayed longer !

This is a very average place

Nothing special at all. Breakfast (included) is a little sparse. Could use some refurbishment. Otherwise a reasonable place, but not really up to modern standards. Be warned, severely limited parking.

Surprise

We were planning to stay at 4 star hotel in Oberstdorf but because of the construction work next door decided not to stay there. We were directed to Hotel Garni Regina which was only 2 star. It was pleasant surprise and we were more than happy with the room which was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. Close to the town centre and easy walk to the railway station. The breakfast could have been a bit better, but for the little price we paid for the room it was fine. Definitely would stay there again. Oberstdorf was well worth the visit...just beautiful!
