Wow what a lovely place.
Lovely room with all modcons.
Tv channels .hot water A/C
Comfortable bed.
And definitely the best breakfast I have had in India.
Lovely hosts .
A truely welcoming proper homestay.
Very close to boat trips and backwaters.

perfect homestay with great value

Maya and her husband Madhu were amazing host! Really lovely and kind people and they made me feel at home! Madhu gave me some great suggestion to travel in this area. Maya is a fantastic cook and created some delicious kerala lunch and breakfast for me.
Mayas Residency is located in a nice and peaceful area in Alleppey. My room room was spacious, comfortable and very clean.
I really enjoyed my stay at this place and I highly recommend Maya Residency!

Great stay and houseboat experience

We arrived at this homestay after a long drive from Munnar and were keen to get out and about and discover Allepey. The owner Madhu and his wife Maya could not do enough to help us, he took my husband to the bank and to the train station to book the tickets for the next part of our journey so we could forget about that and enjoy the afternoon and evening on the houseboat which was magical, drifting around the backwaters and stopping at beautiful locations for lunch and our evening meal. We returned to the hotel after a fabulous night on the boat.The Hotel is very clean and we were served the most wonderful traditional breakfast including a steamed bread stuffed with a mixture of coconut and spices and some homemade curries and other delicious delicacies. Madhu allowed us to leave our luggage and have a shower allowing another day exploring the area before catching the night train South, these kind gestures make all the difference to a trip. I would definitely recommend this homestay, Thank you again to this lovely couple. Martyn,Kev,Sue and Julie

Comfortable home stay with extraordinary food.

Welcoming owners made our stay memorable with Madhu very knowledgeable on all aspects of India and Maya serving outstanding,delicious traditional dishes.The large, clean rooms were comfortable with good AC and wifi.The residency is in a quiet area close to the canals making it easy to embark on a Backwater adventure. An auto rickshaw to town is quick and inexpensive.

Beautiful homestay in Backwaters, Kerala

What a wonderful couple of days we spent at this beautiful home stay. Two couples accommodated upstairs in well appointed and comfortable rooms. It is very easy and cheap to get into town and to take a boat onto the canals. Madhu has a wealth of information about the Backwaters, Kerala and India . He and Maya are incredible hosts. The breakfast and one dinner we enjoyed were the best we have enjoyed in Southern India . The couple's Ayurvedic lifestyle is reflected in the food and ambience of this super homestay. The wifi worked well too. Would highly recommend Maya's
