A good budget-friendly option in an original Art Nouveau building. The rooms and amenities are not top-notch anymore, but everything is functional and the staff was utmost friendly and helpful. A refrigerator in the room and an electric kettle on loan from the reception were an additional advantage. We didn't miss breakfast as there are very nice coffee shops in the Stabu iela nearby.

The hotel's location is its biggest advantage. It's a good choice for a short city break, as you get what you pay for. The train station and most of the main tourist attractions are within a 15-20 minute walk.
However, the hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms and the overall atmosphere feel like stepping back 30 years. The bed was a little squeaky, but it didn't affect my sleep.
I appreciated that the room included all the basic amenities, such as toiletries, a shoe brush and shoehorn, a shower cap, a comb, soap, as well as clean towels and fresh bed linen.
Overall, I wouldn't rate this hotel higher than 3 out of 5 stars. The excellent location makes up for many of its shortcomings, but if you're looking for modern facilities and comfort, this may not be the best choice.

The price was very good and the room quite good in relation to the price. The location was also good when you take the price into account.
The attitude from the staff was bad though. They didn't say welcome but just told me to fill in a form when I arrived. Whenever I passed the dess in the morning or evening and said Hello I either didn't get a response or a sour one.

City holiday in July 2026

We spend two nights in July visiting first time Riga. The location of the hotel was good as we walked to most important sights. Service was quick and ok. There was no air-conditioning in the room but luckily the weather was not too hot. The room was clean. The only noice came from the busy street but when the window was closed, it did not disturb too much.

Good location, near the city centre with parking lot. Economy clean hotel for a good price.
