A Majical Oasis in the Arctic
ONGA Boutique Lodge was the cherry on top of an incredible two-week mother-son adventure in Norway. I simply cannot say enough good things about the incredible staff, the charming accommodations and the beautiful environs. It is truly everything I'd hoped for -- and more. My son and I took full advantage of all the included amenities like the wood-fire sauna, the hot tub and guided snow shoeing (the river wasn't quite frozen enough for us to do the frozen river walk) and they were all lovely. We also opted to add on a night in one of the glass igloos, which was magical under the northern lights, and surprisingly cozy thanks to the pellet-fired stove and staff prep. Everyone -- Elena, Andre, Anja and Marcus -- was so attentive and warm. They really went above and beyond to make our stay incredible, from the airport transfer to dimming the lights around the property when the aurora borealis showed off to make to viewing experience even better. And the food! Can we talk about the food for a second?! It was incredible: potato and cod soup with salmon caviar, reindeer filet with mashed potatoes and a lingonberry and tempered chocolate dessert I'm still dreaming about. If you have a chance to stay at this special property: do it! It's worth every penny. And then some.

Magic Birthday Celebration
What a fantastic experience to be able to do in your own city. A magical place that looks like a movie set ❤️ Birthday party with 12 girls, where we had all the amenities for ourselves all day long. Jacuzzi, sauna, a lovely dinner with good drinks and glassiglo under a starry sky in dominant nature. Absolutely lovely! The hospitality was also fantastic. The cabins were so cosy, and newly renovated, and great beds (especially the duvets). We slept so well after a long day/night. We will definitely be back ❤️ Thank you so much for us!

Perfect place for course and hygge
A lovely stay in beautiful surroundings. A great place for academic program and relationship building. We were served very good lunch and fantastic 3 dishes dinner.

So glad we made it!
From the gracious pick up at the airport to the hugs at our departure, Onga will forever be a magical moment in time. We loved everything about it. The comfortable room, the exquisite meals, the warming fireplace in the main hall, tea time, the remote and beautiful location, the guided outdoor activities, the clear and dark skies for viewing the northern lights, the sauna & hot tub, the glass igloo... Most of all, the gracious staff who shared conversations and laughs. They made it a beautiful experience. Thank you!

Onga is a gem
Onga Boutique Lodge is a gem, pure and simple. From the beautiful location to the incredible and very attentive staff, we knew immediately that we had come to the right place. Everyone here is so warm, friendly and welcoming - the perfect counterpoint to the Arctic cold.
There was a lot of attention to detail and desire to ensure we always had what we needed. And every staff member we interacted with taught us something about the lodge, the local customs and history and the natural environment. The setting is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We didn’t spend much time in our rooms but enjoyed their comfort and charm. One of the highlights for us was spending a night in one of the Aurora Domes (glass igloos) - it was such a special treat!
We did five activities while we were there: the Aurora walk, fjord tour, husky safari, frozen river walk and a tour of the Igloo Hotel. Each of them enhanced our visit in different ways. Using the Onga spa afterwards was the perfect way to end the day.
And the food. Wow- just wow. Five star cuisine, all the way. My family of picky eaters ate really well here. And I personally knew I was in good hands immediately re. the handling of my fish allergy - everyone there knew about it and I ate as well as everyone else with the creative alternative dishes the chef made just for me. Our family all agreed that should the chef ever choose to make an Onga cookbook, we want to be first in line for it!
Onga is such a special place. Our stay here exceeded our expectations in every way. We especially appreciated the ease with which we could just step outside our cabins to check for the northern lights. No hours long excursion was required to see the lights as is necessary in other locations.
It was Onga for the win! We also went to other cities on this family vacation but we all agreed that our favorite place to stay was Onga.
