Start of the Northern Camino de Santiago.

Hotel with a very good exterior appearance, located 500 m from the Church of Santo Tomás de Canterbury. The young lady at the front desk was very kind and attentive. Both the room and the bathroom are spacious and very clean.
It has a bathtub; for my taste, a walk-in shower would be better, but this is a very personal opinion.

Solid hotel.

I stayed here for one night as we had a customer visit nearby; the room was okay, mostly clean, breakfast was very good, a large part of the staff spoke English, parts of the hotel could use cleaning/renovation, all in all, it was fine for the price.

Super bad place

This place shows no hospitality or anything that would make you feel good about where you stay. People at the front desk are distant and not nice, there is no help, kindness or any form of welcoming behaviour. I traveled with my service dog. It turns out that they have the "animal room" as the guy at the front desk called it, room 120, right next to the stairs and close to the elevator, technically the noisiest room of the entire hotel: the entire first floor marches in front of your door, people sit in front of the elevator for a cozy nice midnight chat and I could hear the phone ringing at the front desk. In the morning people run to have breakfast and yell on the corridor in front of the door. There is no afternoon nap either as the cleaning people casually drop the cleaning equipment in front of this door, sometimes scratching the door with a vacuum cleaner pipe. I reported this to the front desk, where a guy said that the place is fully booked and there is nothing to do. This was an obvious lie as I checked on some hotel booking websites and there was availability for that particular night.
Things had gotten worse, when I tried to go to sleep and lifted the comforter. There must have been a shedding short black hair dog in that bed, the linen was fully covered with fur. At that point I had no better idea than to invite the guy from the front desk upstairs, and I asked him if he would be willing to sleep in a bed like this if he was a guest in a hotel and he said no. So he watched me taking off the dirty bedsheets, he took them away and returned with a set of unmatching composition of bedding stuff, gave it to me and left me to change the beds. He promised laughingly that by the next day he promises a big clean and my room will be ready.
Unfortunately this delay did not apply to the payment as I had prepaid my whole one week stay there - a mistake that I clearly will not ever make again in my life.
As I kept cleaning the room, I found massive amount of trash, including pubic hair, human hair, tiny corners of torn tampon packaging material and all sort of dirt on the floor, under the bed, etc., there was not a single corner of that room that had been cleaned.
The next morning the guy from the front desk asked me if I want the cleaning, but I turned him down as I had already cleaned the room and because of the lack of trust I kept cleaning it until the end of my stay. I even purchased a roll of kitchen towels that I used for drying my body after showering as I felt that the place was so disgusting that I just did not feel like using their towels.
The breakfast was good and it had variety. Unfortunately the breakfast experience was also ruined by another member of the staff who started yelling at me in Spanish when I wanted to sit at a table for four and he said I can only sit at a table for one (the breakfast room was nearly empty when I wanted to eat). I changed table upon this "kind" request, but I felt really sad. Nobody has ever, on any continent, at any hotel yelled at me for where I want to sit for breakfast.
I planned to get out of there but they did not want to pay back the price for the rest of the nights and I simply could not afford to pay for another hotel.
Avoid this place, apart from its relatively central location, this accomodation does not carry any benefit and it is a sad excuse for a hotel.

Simple, basic rooms in a central location. Note the walls are super thin so you will hear conversations (and snores) from the rooms next door so bring earplugs

Serious burn from the shower

I was having a shower and then suddenly the water became scorching hot and burned me. I screamed and jumped out of the bath tub, but I burned my back and was in a lot of pain.
No one else was in my room, no one turned on a cold tap or flushed the chain. It just happened as I stood under the shower.
This shows bad plumbing and a lack of heat control. If an elderly person or a child had been in the shower, the outcome could have been even worse.
This demonstrates that the hotel is in need of updating - it is tired, and with out of date facilities.
However the location is good.

Very good location
