Modern holiday apartments
We stayed at the hotel for a weekend and had a very modern apartment in the new building. Breakfast offers a rich selection and the restaurant offers regional cuisine and delicious burgers. I can't say anything about the rooms and equipment in the main house. Below and next to the new building is a parking space for 3€ per. From there you can get into the house quickly and easily. The main house is to be redesigned outside and a new terrace will be added. The service staff is very friendly but sometimes overwhelmed.

With friends in Thuringia
We stayed 4 days in Thuringia. The hotel is quite central and you have many excursion destinations. The hotel is good. Very good restaurant, the cuisine was excellent and the breakfast superb. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately there were 2 negative experiences: the mattresses are not the best and have already worn out, these should be replaced urgently. The restaurant closes on Sundays at 8 p.m.,no theme. Here is our suggestion: provide a space where guests can sit comfortably, even without Service. Then everything would be perfect. Nevertheless, we had a nice time, Thuringia is definitely worth a trip.

Hotel Herzog Georg is a real gem hidden in rural Germany. The size of room is larger than a standard European room and we were very happy to have 2 large size doubles for my wife and 15 yr old son. Breakfast was massive European style and quality was superb. Lots of walking opportunities around town with site seeing and hiking just a short drive away. A couple notes, not much English spoken here, or in town at all. People were extremely gracious and we didnt have any issues, but just be aware. Also there are limited hours for the reception and if you think you will even be close to showing up after 7pm local time, reach out and coordinate how to get room access. We did not do this (our fault) and struggled to get ahold of the reception after hours with our US phones. Overall I would def stay here again if I was coming to the area.

Fun spot hidden away in the German Countryside
