Kashubian cuisine
Here you can stay during the night.
A good place to spend time in summer and winter.
The rooms of the middle class, but good location.

Very pleasant small town hotel
There is no lift (elevator) to the rooms. This wasn't a major problem to us on the first floor (23 steps up a wide marble staircase). The second floor is accessible via spiral staircase, so that could be a problem for some people.
We were using a VW Transporter 8-seater and parked (without charge) easily in this larger than average sized vehicle in the rear courtyard. If arriving by car it is worth knowing that the hotel is on part of the street that is one way, so is not as easy as some places to find. (Until you know which road to take, then it is simple)
We had originally booked for one night, but enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed an extra night.
I have added a number of photos, as we were dismayed by what had been written by some of the previous guests and wanted to show the truth about this pleasant provincial hotel. We would certainly stay again if we visit Kaszubia

The good, the bad, the indifferent.
It was a little difficult for me to find the hotel, the picture on the webpage (the one with the yellow flowers around the lamp in a courtyard) is not what I ever saw from the street. It may have been an inside courtyard, but what one needs to look for is the restaurant, to which the hotel is attached via a supplementary entrance. The hotel itself sort of felt like an afterthought, when we got there to check in there was no one at the small front desk, only after a long wait did anyone show up to check us in. At the time we seemed to be the only guests, the hallways were dark and it generally seemed fairly empty. We were on the first floor (ie one floor up from the ground), and it was lucky that it wasn’t higher since there is no elevator. The room itself was quite large, and had the widest variety of television channels of anywhere I stayed in Poland The bathroom was good sized, with a shower. However, the walls were very, very thin. Starting at about 10pm and ending around 1am, it sounded like a group of people were having a party in the next room with very loud tv/music. As I don’t speak much Polish, there wasn’t much I could do about it except try to mentally will them to be quiet.
Parking was supposedly included for free, however, I never found the hotel parking. There were plenty of meters out front, so that was fine. What I loved about the parking meters I used in Poland, is if you paid money beyond the time the meter requires it, it credited you for when the meter started requiring payment next (ie, if you pay at 4pm for two hours, and paid parking stops at 5pm, it gives you an hour after the meter starts up again in the morning, versus just takes your money). Breakfast was supposed to be included in the room, however, the hours of the restaurant were quite late in the morning so I didn’t experience it. We had no issues checking out in the morning.
I probably wouldn’t stay here again for the above reasons and because I don’t see going to Kartuzy again. We stayed the night in there as we had been exploring the countryside, but Kartuzy itself didn’t offer much. We were there too late for the Kashubian museum, and the famous coffin-like church was closed for repairs.
If not for the noise, the check in issues, and the breakfast hours I would have rated this a three.

we are not amused
No matter how long you stay your room will never be serviced. The price of room includes breakfast but no choice is given and if you are lets say vegetarian - you will have to resign to having only jam on bare (butter is served!) bread washed down but absolutely intollerable liquid called "coffee".
"Hotel" corridors and halls are plunged in darkness and for someone not familiar with the place it is quite hazardous to move around and use i.e. metal spiral stairs which are truly difficult to challenge and require determination and courage to climb up and strol down. BEWARE!!!!!
