Stay in Hamburg

Good area close to transport, local shops.
Cleanliness, brightness, calm.
We had an apartment with one bedroom and just opposite a welcoming private area: kitchenette, bathroom and toilet.
Wireless. Secure and very clean establishment. Kind welcome from the owners.

Great for a family with a plan

We (parents and toddler) stayed here for a few days. We had lived in Germany before, and I had been to Hamburg many times before. I mention this for two reasons--the apartment is just as an apartment should be: fully-outfitted, clean, and big. But it means you need to keep it clean, take out trash, etc. The location is a fair walk to metro stops (not a problem if you are used to it!) which means you should plan your days and travel accordingly. My experience there before helped us prioritize family activities to plan, giving us enough time to travel and relax in down time. We fit in a trip to Ballenstadt, harbor tour, walk around the city center, and other sight seeing in our 2-3 days without stressing too much...there was a bit of travel to and from the apartment, though.
This is a fine place, though, with a nice manager. And the price was reasonable considering the size of the place.

Thin walls and ceilings

The owner is very friendly....but that is of no help if the walls are very thin so that you can hear your neighbor talking. Kept me awake until 0.15..and he eventually became quiet after me banging on the wall. Then I woke up at 05.40 because the people above me started to walk on their wooden floor...and the ceiling is not sound proof at all. Noisy!
Towels are not cleaned....and there is considerable difference between the quality of the room. My room had a boiler with 5 minutes of hot water for the shower...my colleague had unlimited hot water.

Bargain of the Century

If you are staying in Hamburg and want a peaceful room where you can get a good night's sleep at a fantastic price, this is the place. Stag parties definitely not welcome. A short walk to two U-bahn and one S-bahn stops make for a short commute to the old town and waterfront. Perfect for anyone using the Hamburg Staatsarchive, which is right around the corner. My room was actually a suite and included a private bath/kitchen across the hall. Everything was new, clean, and in the best condition. Perfect for solo travelers, families, or couples.

Great Value for Money

Booked a one bedroom apartment. there was 5 of us staying. Karin the owner was very helpful on our arrival regarding travelling within the city and also some do's and dont's. There are 3nr train stations with 10min walk. Apartment was clean, tidy and comfortable.
There is washing machine and dryer in the basement, along with a games room. There is meant to be a gym but i never seen it. I would def stay here again as it was nice place and everything was as described.
Only thing i would take note of is that its about a 10min train journey from the city centre, but that wasnt an issue with us, but it might be important for others.
