Great!

Fantastic hotel. Amazing location, great food, friendly staff and lovely rooms. We loved Abu Simbel and plan to revisit. When we do we will stay at Tuya Hotel again.

Good location but otherwise somewhat disappointing.

The hotel consists of several old looking buildings around a courtyard. It is nothing flash and has no wow factor. There were two types of room, and I booked a cheaper one - if I hadn’t of prepaid I would have gone elsewhere. It was very small, had virtually no natural light, and one of those very small bathroom where it is impossible for the shower not to flood the floor. I indicated that I was not happy with the room and fortunately they upgraded me to one of the more expensive rooms, which was spacious, comfortable, a large bathroom with a shower enclosure, and had Nubian character. The big advantage with this hotel is that it is an easy 10 minute walk to the Temples site and a 5 minutes walk to where the minibuses leave from. The hotel sells tickets to the light show - cash or card. The temples ticket office is closed of an evening so if you don’t have a ticket you’ll need to pay cash at the gate. The light show is not so great, and was in French - but headsets could be borrowed for English if you left your passport as security.

Bad experience

Dark, dirty, badly decorated, no use for air conditioning, no use for fan.
The bathroom comes out of the water under the toilet and the floor is percussed, black, unbearable the bad smell from the pipes.
Terrible food, bad breakfast.

Stay here in Abu Simbel

We stayed at this hotel one night while visiting Abu Simbel with Djed Egypt Travels. The hotel is very close to the Abu Simbel temples making it the perfect location for visiting the temples. The Nubian style rooms were large and clean with comfortable beds, a large bathroom, and adequate outlets for charging phones, etc. The rooms and hotel had domed ceilings typical of the Nubian style. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and breakfast staff prepared a breakfast for my husband to eat in the room. When we arrived at the hotel, we ordered a snack and were brought a delicious baba ghanoush with pita. It was the best baba ghanoush I've ever eaten. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you're staying in Abu Simbel.

Simply the best

Simply the best you can ask for: A stone's throw from the temples (you really do walk in 5 minutes). Quiet, clean, with restaurant that is also good.
If you add that they have tickets for temples and for the show sounds and lights and sell them to you without surcharge what do you mean? Good.
