We would never book there again.
Last week we spent seven days in Hotel Berghof. We chose this hotel deliberately because of the large playground for our daughter. Unfortunately, the price of about € 250 per night, including breakfast, was not in proportion to the quality for us.
On arrival we were kindly received and were offered two paid upgrades of about € 280 and € 380 extra in addition to our booked standard room. We chose the standard room, because you can expect a decent room for this price in a four-star hotel.
The first room we got in the annex was hugely disappointing. The mattresses were downright bad, one mattress had a strange brown stain, our daughter slept on a simple folding bed and the shower tray was torn. After one night of barely sleeping, we reported this. We were then given another room in the main house and our belongings were transferred to the new room.
This room was more close to what we expected, although here too there were flaws. The shower walls did not close properly, the soap dispenser was broken off and under the third bed there was a lot of dust and hair. The first room we found less than two stars worthy. Because paid upgrades were offered immediately and the standard room was so bad, we strongly felt that we were being sent towards an upgrade.
The playground also disappointed. Many play materials were broken or hardly worked. The electric quads hardly functioned, the pool was not connected to a pump and the swimming pond was green with algae.
To our surprise, the playground cost € 15 per person per day, also for parents. For the week we paid € 100. As far as we could verify, these costs were not stated with the travel agency and were not clearly stated on the hotel website. In the end, we were only there twice briefly, because we found the playground not safe enough for our daughter given the state.
The free games room was also poorly maintained, with several broken or incomplete games and play materials.
The breakfast was extensive and the young woman who provided this in the morning did this very well. However, the quality changed. The scrambled eggs were fine one day and green/grey the next and the cheese regularly looked like it had been warm for too long. The gluten-free offer was ample, but the sandwiches were partially wet due to the preparation in a plastic bag. The normal price of € 30 per person was not worth it.
The hotel we found very messy decorated with all kinds of decorations and stuff that is offered for sale everywhere. Too bad, because with less stuff, the hotel would have a much quieter and more cared for look.
During our stay it was almost daily over 30 degrees and there was no air conditioning or climate control. Because of the smoke from the fire bowls that were stoked in the evening diagonally under our balcony. we could hardly open the windows in the evening.
The wifi was also disappointing. Free wifi was only available in the common area and was very slow. Wifi in the room cost € 15 per week per device. We don't think that fits with a four-star hotel in this price range.
Positive were the friendly welcome, the quick solution after our complaint, the extensive breakfast and gluten-free offer and the ample parking.
These positive points do not outweigh the condition of the rooms and play facilities, the additional costs and the price. The hotel promises a lot on photos and in the description, but did not meet those expectations for us in several important respects.
For about € 250 per night we expected considerably more. We would not recommend Hotel Berghof for this price and would not book again ourselves.

Rip-off in decoration hell
When taking a break on the terrace, you sit between the Frog Prince, Lord Voldemort, and a few unicorns, and pay a whopping $9.80 for 0.75l of mineral water.

Exaggerated decoration as well as hidden additional costs!
Unfortunately, this beautiful place was destroyed by heaps of exaggerated, kitschy decoration. Pictures do not correspond to the current condition. At the beginning of the season, the outdoor play area resembles an over-decorated, dilapidated site. During our stay, we were surprised by increased prices and additional costs (Wi-Fi, play area...). The twin room offered no space for luggage, as it proved not to be spacious. However, the cleanliness and the triple room, which offered plenty of space, deserve praise. We will not visit this hotel again.

Scandalously expensive, for everything you had to pay extra (use garden, wifi , breakfast, swimming pond, wellness, fridge) above all the extra cost for the dog is outrageously expensive while nothing was even provided for the dog

Rip-off
Unfortunately not a positive experience. Very small family room, playground and wellness area only for an extra charge, drink prices small Coke almost 6,- beer 0.4l 8,-
