A must visit!
An amazing find! A wonderful retreat away from the urban jungle! The minimalist decorations exhales calmness, and the swimming pool provides the necessary cool down for the summer sun! The countryside landscape is an amazing view when having breakfast/lunch/dinner, and the chef excelled, specially with the polvo à Lagareiro. Ana, Oriana and Constança were very attentive and looked after us in a way that we didn’t want to leave! Definitely a see you soon, rather than a goodbye!

Beautiful, charming ambiance
We really enjoyed our stay at Solar Alvura Boutique Hotel last weekend. The hotel has a beautiful, charming ambience with stylish natural tones that perfectly match the peaceful and atmospheric surroundings.
The location is beautiful and makes an ideal base to discover the Algarve. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming and always willing to help, making you feel immediately welcome.
The food is delicious and also the breakfast is extensive and of good quality. Our room was spacious, spotless and equipped with all comforts including air conditioning. The large bathroom with bathtub was a nice extra luxury.
In short, a fantastic boutique hotel where comfort, hospitality and atmosphere come together perfectly. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Disappointing
Very disappointing hotel, we booked it on the basis of the positive reviews but, like the other recent negative reviews, this hotel isn’t what it seems. Not the ‘Boutique Hotel’ it claims to be.
Whilst the building itself has a lot of potential, it was quickly apparent it needs better management and a series of improvements made.
Breakfast selection is ok, but no attempt was made to prevent flies landing all over it, which was rather unhygienic!
Unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed at, there is no drinking water supplied to the rooms or even available anywhere once breakfast ends. This wouldn’t be so much of an issue if there were a fridge in the rooms, but there isn’t!
The fact that the bar never appears to be open or anywhere to even get a coffee/water there isn’t acceptable in a hotel like this. Unfortunately, the owner seems not to really care about the guests it seems.
The only plus we could find was the delightful donkey who lives there!

Extremely disappointing and hostile experience
This was, without question, the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had.
We had stopped at this hotel on a previous occasion and had a lovely time however ......
We informed the hotel earlier in the day that we would be arriving late (around 10:30 p.m.), and were assured it wouldn’t be an issue. We were told the side door would be open and the key would be left on the desk. When we arrived at 11:30 p.m., the building was completely locked up. We called the provided number several times but got no response.
Desperate, we knocked and called out until eventually a woman—who turned out to be the owner—shouted from a window and came to the door. Instead of a welcome or apology, we were immediately met with hostility. She aggressively questioned us and created a very tense atmosphere.
In trying to open the locked door, my wife cut her finger. When the owner finally opened the door, she looked down at my wife and said, “Don’t drop blood on the floor.” My wife grabbed a nearby towel to try to stop the bleeding, and shockingly, the owner accused her of trying to steal it. She then threatened to call the police—all of this well past midnight, while we were just trying to check in and deal with an injury.
We were asked to leave the property immediately with no real explanation, leaving me to find a place to sleep elsewhere, the entire experience was stressful, humiliating, and totally unnecessary. The owner obviously has problems when dealing with people and I recommend she leaves her personal problems at home when working in the hospitality business.
I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel if you expect even basic hospitality or respect. There are far better and safer options elsewhere.

Let s relax and forget tiredness
Very charming place to rest. Decoration is very nice and typical. Breakfast is good and personal very professional and friendly. Room is confortable and spacious.garden with swimming pool allow you to relax. The place to go when you don t like crowded hotels.
