Great Location and Vegetarian Food

Anicha is perfectly located in the very heart of Cuenca, a few minutes walk from the cathedral and main square. Great transport links are on the doorstep. The hostel is attractive and comfortable and the staff are friendly and hospitable. A great bonus is the fresh and tasty vegetarian food prepared each evening by Molly.

Beautiful hostel

Beautiful courtyard filled with plants, wall art, and comfy seating. I didn’t get to try the food, but it looked really really good. The staff were very nice and helpful. The beds were soooo comfortable and the showers were very clean. I loved that the building felt old and historic with beautiful hardwood floors in the rooms.

Good vibes, good breakfast, good location

What stands out the most about this hostel is the energy inside of it. Breathing with plants lining the stairways and walls, the common space sets the tone for warm and friendly connection, and paints a beautiful backdrop for the delicious and complete breakfast of eggs, tropical fruit, bread, marmalade, and coffee. It didn't take long to feel at home here. Would definitely recommend this place for travelers looking to connect to open-minded individuals. :)

Falsely informing and making money over people in corona crisis

We went here right before Ecuador went in complete lockdown for the corona crisis. They said there were no possible transport options within Ecuador anymore and that we would be stuck here. Since they wanted a good overview of who was staying the next day, they made us book a week I’m advance. However, the information they provided was not true as we found a flight to Quito the next day. We were hoping, and kind of expecting that we would get (a part) of our money back since we didn't want to be there in the first place and going to Quito was our only chance of getting home before complete lockdown. But they didn’t care. No refunds, not even partly. The fact that they misinformed us didn’t matter. We would expect that I’m this situation they would show some understanding. Unfortunately for us, they will now make a lot of money with empty beds....
