A Dreamy, picturesque property
This place is so incredibily cool. I loved comign by boat and seeing it from the water. we stayed in the treehouse and it was a dream room, gorgeous views, great outside tub, cozy bed, and everythign you need in the kitchen. We wnjoyed using the kayaks, the loungers, and yoga mats. We ate at the restuarant attached to the property for most meals, and loved everythign we ate. We did have a few nights of blackouts, but I'm not sure if thats a regular occurance or just something that happened. It didn't bother us much.

A most beautiful location on Lago Atitlan, Guatemala
This was our 4th visit to Lake Atitlan and our first to the Sunset Lodge. We very much enjoyed our visit. The view from the Lodge is one of the best on the Lake. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to the Atitlan Sunset Lodge

Disappointed but beautiful views.
Pros…
The views are incredible.
The decor of the loft was modern.
Loft apartment was completely private.
Restaurant/bar area is beautiful.
The area with sun loungers is nice enough.
Kayaks/paddle boards provided.
Filtered water provided.
Cons…
Bugs everywhere in room when we arrived.
Cleanliness - cupboards, floors and windows in apartment were in dirty.
Water/drainage was poor and left a smell.
Lack of bin bags and clarity of what to do with rubbish.
Check in was simply the maintenance man helping carry our bags and handing us a key. He spoke zero English.
We asked for a sunbed that was missing from the balcony and never got it.
Unclear how to contact them about issues.
No breakfast included but they serve breakfast.
Advertised as a hotel but it is an Airbnb/rental.
Finally, and what I think is the worst part, I contacted the hotel on their WhatsApp as instructed to inform them of our problems and was completely ignored even after informing the lady at the bar that I had sent a WhatsApp.
So so much potential and wonderful views but they’re not getting it quite right.

A lovely secluded experience
Access to the lodges are by boat from the pier in Panjachel which takes around 15 minutes. We stayed in the refurbished Gran Studio apartment for three days and enjoyed every minute.
The room was large with a large sofa and chair in front of picture windows with a panoramic view of the lake from an elevated position. There was a large balcony with room for a small table and chairs plus two loungers. There is a well equipped kitchen from which you can make basic meals but with no food stores nearby, the logistics are a little difficult and we contented ourselves with breakfast and dinner in the excellent restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and we always had plenty of hot water for the shower. TV has Netflix/Prime and although there is no air conditioning there was a fan available. In truth, it gets a little chilly later in the evening so this was never needed. The only negative was a complete absence of any wardrobe space or even hangers.
Food in the restaurant was excellent all the way through our stay. There are various breakfast and lunch options and a fixed 2 or 3 course dinner which rotates every four days. All meals are vegan based although there is the option of chicken substituted for the main course at dinner.
Although boats do not routinely call at the dedicated jetty for the lodge, they are easy to attract by waving from the jetty and during the day are numerous. Various water based activities are available at the lodge, other activities include hiking options. Santa Cruz is a stiff 30 minute walk and it is possible to walk further along the Northern shoreline. We did a nice walk to Jaibalito along the coast calling at Santa Cruz for lunch on the way back, a round trip of around 6.5 miles.
It would be noted this place is not suitable or anyone with any mobility issues. Our apartment involved a climb of nearly 100 steps from the restaurant and embarkation onto the boats from jetties requires full mobility.
Overall this was a very pleasurable stay and if we ever come back to Lake Atitlan, we would be very happy to stay here again.

Wonderful place with stunning views
Wow.. just spent two wonderful nights at this property and I wished I had stayed longer. To begin, Viandy arranged all transportation to and from the property for me, making travel easy, even having to catch the 5am shuttle to the airport. I met Randy at the property who was really friendly and helped me settle in.
The property is beautiful and the views are spectacular like the other reviews said. I had the Rock Apartment which meant I had the most stairs to climb but it was well worth it. I liked the secludedness and quietness.
It is a great place to just lounge and relax, read a book while soaking in the views, and watching hummingbirds flit by. Or one can take the kayak or paddle board out on the lake, or just jump off the pier for a swim.
Everything I had at the restaurant was delicious and made to order.
Hope to be back in the future.
