South Seas Resort - Does It Right

The following is a review for the rest of the resort. Overall the resort with all its amenities is well worth the price. We stayed in a 3 bedroom beach villa. There were 6 of us; 3 adults, 2 teenagers and a child under 10. The villa had enough room for all of us and the view was fantastic. There were a few minor issues with the room but all were addressed by their maintenance team as soon as we reported them. The accommodations could have been a little nicer, but nothing that would keep us from coming back for a fourth time.
The staff is wonderful and did a great job making us feel at home without being overbearing.
The newly opened Captiva landing was a hit with the whole family.
Rent a golf cart, the kids loved it. If you think you’d like to explore Captiva and Sanibel a bit more you’ll need a car.
Thank you South Seas for welcoming us back. We promise to return soon and we can wait to see how everything looks when all of your renovations are complete.

4 Day Getaway

This was our first time back to South Seas after Hurricane Ian. Everything was perfect - room very spacious and comfortable, food was delicious at all the restaurants, gym was nicely equipped, pool area very comfortable and relaxing and staff was super accommodating and friendly.

Avoid Room 5132 (Unless the musty smell is gone)!

At first, we got a bad room. Avoid Room 5132! It was very musty in there, like the room was never occupied (not surprised why) and the beds looked horrible with ugly box springs exposed and they didn't bother to cover with a bed skirt. But because it was so musty and moldy, my husband started having a sinus headache! So we requested to be transfered (it's good we didn't unpack yet), and thank God they moved us to a much better room (Rm 5218)! It was beautifully decorated with coastal/beachy decor, the room smelled good like new, and the king sized bed was so comfortable we slept real well! Big difference from room 5132! So overall, we totally enjoyed our stay so I'm giving it 5 stars. It was peaceful (then again, it's off-season), we had the beach all to ourselves most of the time, the water was gorgeous with lotsa fish and some dolphins, the folliage around our condo is like paradise, and the whole place is beautiful...but you will either need your car or rent a golf cart to get around because it's a huge property! We will be back, and this time, we will stay right on the beach!

recently stayed at this hotel and had an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the entire property had a pleasant atmosphere.
Everything was handled professionally, and I truly appreciated the great service throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. I look forward to coming back in the future!

South Seas, not my cup of tea!

Place has a lot of construction that interferes with parking in certain areas. No full breakfast available. Provisions sells egg sandwiches, with frozen ingredients, the sandwich was not good, maybe because the sausage in it was still cold.Overall food quality poor and expensive in the restaurants. Water park was nice for children. If your older, the walk to the beach is too long, especially if carrying items! If you rent a villa on the second floor, you have 3 flights of about 10 steps each to walk up. Think of it as renting an Air B&B and not a resort! Location is the best!
