Excellent stay over

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay over at Whittals. The chalet was clean and neat and the service from when we did the booking till our arrival was very good. We will definitely consider staying here again and can recommend this guesthouse.

Such a caring owner!

We arrived in Aliwal North for an overnight stay - hubby, self and fur baby. We were shown to our unit, which sadly was opposite a place playing loud awful music - during the day! Fur baby was unsettled, I was more than unsettled and our concern was that this was going to go on all day and night. The owner Tina, was so kind and arranged for us to move to another self catering venue. Completely understanding and I was sad that these interferences affect other businesses!
We really appreciated Tina's understanding and caring and her going out of her way to make sure we were settled and sorted. (She even drove over to the next venue to make sure we found the place and were fine!) Thank you Thank you!

Comfortable Overnight

We recently stayed one night at Whittals Chalets on our way from Cape Town to Underberg in KZN .
The chalet was clean and neat and had all that was needed for a good rest after a long day on the road .

FRIENDLY STAFF, DECENT UNIT, AREA NOT TOO GREAT

The lady who helped us was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the area around Aliwal Spa has gone downwards terribly. Even Aliwal Spa is a dump and just a dilapidated mess nowadays.
The accommodation itself was good though.

Disaster - could not wait to leave

Stayed here to break our long trip from East London to Johannesburg. Altough the staff were friendly the accomodation was below par! It's the first time I've had to pay up front for accomodation. They did not know we'd paid a disposit. There were not enough towles in the room. The bathroom was a total disaster! The shower was non-usable. The single bed looked like it was about to collapse. The only positive was clean bedding.
