The better place to stay

It's like family here. Hukum and his wife krishna are very welcoming. Hukum is a super good guide with 30 years of experience. He knows the animals perfectly and answers all your questions. It is very flexible for outings. It's very quiet here. His wife Krishna is an excellent cook. I highly recommend them to you.
On est comme en famille ici. Hukum et sa femme krishna sont très accueillants. Hukum est un super bon guide avec 30 ans d'expérience. Il connaît parfaitement les animaux et répond à toutes vos questions. Il est très flexible pour les sorties. C'est très calme ici. Sa femme Krishna est une excellente cuisinière. Je vous les recommande vivement.

Best lodge and guide in Bardia

I stayed with Hukum and his family for 5 nights and everything was perfect!
His lodge is a typically Nepalese house where I was able to have my privacy in a large and confortable bedroom with bathroom and convivial moments in the outdoor lounge where we all had our meals. Hukum, his wife and son welcomed me with open arms!
Krishna, Hukum's wife, is always smiling and positive! She prepares all the meals at home, using local ingredients (sometimes even from the garden!) and adapts completely to your diet. Everything was delicious, I ate every day and never lacked anything!
Hukum was so welcoming, warm, helpful and secure throughout my stay. As well as being my host, he was my guide in the jungle of Bardia and I can say with certainty that he is the best in the region!
He was the really first guide here (30 years ago) and he knows ALL the national park by heart, loves nature and animals deeply and is full of ideas and tips on how to best approach the tiger safely.
We did several jungle safaris by walk, by motorbike, by jeep and he even proposed me a night in a tree house in the middle of the jungle to watch the animals safely at night. It was absolutely magical! Thanks again!
This trip will remain engraved in my memory forever!
Everything was perfect and more than what I expected.
If you're thinking of coming to Bardia, being close to the park and enjoying a real experience in comfort and with local people, the Hukum lodge is for you!

Authenticity and nature

I had a very nice stay with the family of Hukum. I extended my stay, I stayed there a week. . Between jeep safari and jungle walks, I had a great time. Back to basics, nature! Hukum and his family welcomed me with all their kindness, service, naturalness in an authentic setting. Thanks to them!

Wild thing!

Coming there was one of the best experience in my life! Definitely place for people loving nature and simple, peaceful life. Every morning you'll be waking up hearing beautiful concert of many birds living around. During the day you can just rest or go for a walk in the local village. But one thing definitely you have to do - go with Hukum (who is the best guide in Bardia National Park) to the wild to searching for the tigers, rhinos, elephants and other animals living there It's really worth to do that!
During your stay in Jungle Base Camp you'll feel like part of family. Hukum and his wife will take care of you and help you if you'll have some problem. Enjoy very tasty, simple Nepali food made by Hukum's wife from organic ingredients, mostly from their garden. Don't expect luxury in the rooms, it's not a five-star hotel, you'll have only essential things.
If you are looking for adventure don't hesitate to come there! Namaste

Friendly place

A rustic friendly place to stay. A family run business with all kinds of services. I stayed here for just one night as an hub to another guesthouse. I think the cottages can use a bit of a improvement by the use of them during the years. But overall it was good.
