both the pool and the beach are beautiful
very nice hotel, the beach is equipped but there is also a free area. a small part of the sea has nets to protect against jellyfish. still on the beach, there is the possibility to go on inflatable boats and be taken by a jet ski. the pool is very shallow but well maintained and beautiful. both the sea and the pool are closely monitored by lifeguards. the rooms are large, spacious but a bit old, very large bathroom. breakfast is very good, there are various restaurants where you can have breakfast: Western and Japanese. this hotel is twinned with the Mercur hotel, a hotel you can reach with a free shuttle and you can use its pools. a massage service and a laundry are also available.

Not recommended!
We just stood in line and had to take a number to be allowed to have breakfast. 15 minutes before the end, it was our turn. I have never experienced anything like this. Having breakfast under stress is not for me on vacation. My appetite was gone after that! I cannot understand all the good reviews of the hotel!

We understand that breakfast is an important part of the resort experience. During the summer season and on weekends, our breakfast restaurant can become very busy, resulting in wait times of 30 to 90 minutes during peak periods.
To make the process as smooth as possible, we have continuously refined our operations and currently use a numbered ticket system. This allows guests to enjoy a walk around the beach or patio instead of waiting in line.

Disappointing - not 5 star.
3 star facilities at best. Nothing luxurious at all. Disappointed for a Japanese hotel to be so poor. Wish we had paid more to stay elsewhere.
Appears to be no investment in the hotel for many years/decades. Some things that really let it down:
- extremely hard beds
-1970’s bathroom
- no porter service for luggage - you take a trolley yourself
-no bar open after 6pm
- breakfast queues so bad you ‘take a ticket’
- dirty stained carpets
Positively the staff are very friendly & do their best, and some speak English, but mainly cater to Japanese tourists. The beach is gorgeous but low tide = no swimming (rocks) and jellyfish nets.
There’s also real penny pinching mantra here:
- supermarket style shampoo etc
- toilet roll not replaced unless completely used (with a sign to say that). One bath towel each
- pay extra for mango or passion fruit at breakfast
- pillows have plastic beads in them (really weird and uncomfortable)
- they offer you ¥1000 to skip housekeeping
- aircon seems to go off overnight
The breakfast buffet is not great choice wise, but the Teppnayaki was excellent (expensive).
We left early as we were so disappointed with the quality of the hotel and particularly the hard beds.
Hotel owners need to invest and remove the cost cutting policies - your staff will only carry you so far.
At best a 3 star hotel by Western standards.

Not 5 stars
The hotel is pretty run down and doesn’t deserve 5 stars. It is not a „charming vintage” as the management explains it, it is: yellow bathubs, poor lighting, chipped furniture and window shatters, molded balcony floors…The staff is friendly even though some speak no English so you may be unlucky at a check in and receive zero instructions on the hotel facilities. A lot is charged in addition (indoor pool, beach chairs positioned in a shadow, passion fruit at breakfast, kids activities). The spa treatments are OK but again, not a 5 star quality (the “salon” is based in a transformed hotel room so there is zero spa look and feel). All this for already a high price. On the positive note, the outdoor pool is nice and the beach is pleasant. I wouldn’t recommend this place; it is not a 5 star hotel but charges a 5 star premium.

You can spend some time relaxing.
Surrounded by the sea and sugarcane fields, this hotel has nothing to spare.
It's a long way to the city, but the Spanish Colonial-style interior is great for relaxing.
It's hard to say how much hospitality it offers for visitors, and how nice the views are, including the beach and the pool and church.
