Peaceful and beautiful setting. The staff create a magical atmosphere

We have absolutely loved our stay at SeVi.
The service has been exceptional from start to finish. Every single member of the team has been genuinely warm, friendly and welcoming, and nothing has ever been too much trouble. It has made such a difference to our holiday.
The food has also been fantastic. We originally planned to try a few restaurants nearby, but ended up eating at SeVi every day because the quality was so good. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and consistently delicious.
The hotel itself is peaceful, beautifully maintained and in a stunning location overlooking Mnemba.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend SeVi to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Zanzibar. Thank you to the whole team for making our time here so special.

Dead rat in room
On arrival there was a dead rat in the room. Refused to give refund and manager nowhere to be seen. Do not stay here.

Rats and mosquitos - neither clean nor safe
Rats in the rooms. I have been fortunate enough to travel to many locations and I have stayed in multiple different types of property. I have never encountered such conditions, let alone in a 4 star hotel. The room had a dead rat left on the side of the bed. The hotel denied there was an issue. The room was also full of mosquitos as it had not been fumigated. I would avoid staying here at all costs, it is not clean nor is it safe

What a disappointment this stay was. Not the relaxation, tranquil or comfort that I was looking for. This place Looked nothing like the photos online. On arrival the entrance was sketchy, the unpaved driveway leading to the property is poorly kept, we arrived late so we didn’t think much of it, nor did we have a look around until the following morning. After waiting damn near an hour for uncooked eggs we decided to check out immediately. The front desk staff assured us that they would only charge us for the night we stayed & that we would have to reach out to our booking platform to receive our partial refund. Also a 5% tax was added every time we used our cards. After attempting to get our refund from the booking agency, we were told that they couldn’t get a response back from the property, they refused to answer emails & phone calls regarding refunds. So unfortunately we took the Lost. The beach was the biggest let down, poorly maintained, seaweed covered the sands entirely, it was everything short of relaxation. This property is nowhere near a four stars and should be indeed removed from all booking platforms. Not worth the money at all.

Terrible - No mosquito nets!!
The experience was decidedly negative.
The rooms have serious critical issues. Upon our arrival, the first room was infested with dozens of mosquitoes. After an extermination with a very strong spray and the discovery of several geckos (one even in the bed), we were assigned another room. Unfortunately, the situation did not improve: even in the second room there were mosquitoes, geckos, ants, spiders, and other insects, some of which even ended up in the bed despite the mosquito net.
Added to this was a severe woodworm infestation in both the room and the restaurant. The constant noise during the night made it difficult to sleep, and every day we found sawdust on furniture, the sink, and personal items, so much so that we had to keep our suitcases and toiletry bags closed at all times.
The most incomprehensible point is that a 4-star resort does not have real windows. The rooms are equipped exclusively with wooden shutters with slats that cannot be closed completely and are devoid of mosquito nets. This means that the rooms remain constantly open to the entry of mosquitoes, geckos, and other insects, as well as external noise. It is literally impossible to prevent animals from entering from the outside, even by keeping the fixtures closed, which in fact cannot be closed.
We would have liked to change hotels from the very first day, but we were informed that we would not receive any refund. We therefore tried to adapt so as not to compromise our vacation, but finding even gecko droppings in the bed was truly unacceptable.
The local staff was always extremely kind and helpful, but they cannot solve structural problems such as the absence of windows and mosquito nets or a woodworm infestation. The rooms clearly need a substantial renovation.
Furthermore, although the location is authentic and quiet, the low tide and the presence of numerous boats and sea urchins make it effectively impossible to swim from the hotel beach. However, this was certainly not the main problem.
I would finally like to point out that during our trip we stayed in four other hotels in Tanzania, all of a similar category, without encountering any of these problems. It is therefore not a standard of the country, but specific critical issues of this property.

La manutenzione delle nostre camere e delle aree comuni è costante e prendiamo sempre in seria considerazione ogni segnalazione per programmare gli interventi necessari.
Infine, desideriamo precisare che il fenomeno delle maree è una caratteristica naturale della costa orientale di Zanzibar e varia nell'arco della giornata. Proprio per questo il nostro team è sempre lieto di consigliare gli orari migliori per il bagno o le numerose escursioni disponibili, tra cui la vicinissima isola di Mnemba.
