Very nice place for a quiet holiday in nowhere.

Maria and Luc are a very friendly and courteous couple. They have great ideas for Things to do nearby and take very good care of one. Many attractions are within easy reach within an hour. Had a wonderful holiday with my girlfriend there.

Carmen Sánchez and her family

Excellent service and treatment in every sense, from 10 María and Enrique; lovely and very helpful people. Breakfasts with a great variety of color and flavor, delicious and complete. Escuela del campo is a place to disconnect, appreciate nature and enjoy your pool/garden and home interior. Everything is great!

Charming, peaceful, rustic - and basic

La Escuela del Campo is very peaceful, but isolated - with the nearest village about 10 minutes away. It is charming and the hosts are delightful and extremely helpful. Breakfast was superb - and the setting is great. However, it is also basic and simple, with dark rooms, slow WiFi, a small lukewarm shower, and old spring beds. So, it may not be for everyone, but we liked being there for a couple of nights.

Surrounded By History

We absolutely loved our stay at Maria and Luc's B&B set on the edge of a sweeping valley a few kilometres from the white village of Setenil in what was once an estate school. This has been transformed into a rustic, rural getaway for people like ourselves who have lived in a busy SE Asian city for 7 years. We stayed for 3 nights and each morning we had the best B&B breakfasts we have ever had in many years of travel all over the world.
Every morning the breakfasts were different and eaten outside beneath trees with hills in different hues of brown and green stretching away before us. Maria produces a rich array of flavours through the clever use of herbs and other garnishes.
From the B&B we explored a number of the white villages on a day road trip and another day visited Ronda which is 30 minutes away. On our last morning we drove up to the Roman ruins of Acinipo which are 500 meters as the crow flies from the B&B. Luc alerted us to this site which features the remains of a Roman amphitheater. We had the site and the magnificent views to ourselves.
One last feature we enjoyed was filling up our water bottles each day at the Roman era spring out the front of the B&B. Many locals call in to do the same.

Lovely quiet retreat

A perfect base for exploring the nearby mountain villages with our hire car. Leave some time to find it. The hotel was not signed, but Google maps got us there.
Breakfast was out of this world. Really exceeded any expectations! And Lorca the resident dog was lovely
