Explore the hotel, will be the only one we walk small three
10 friends took a small three-way trip to Shanxi on June 10, booked two hotels to stay at Xiamen Gate by filtering the platform, and walked the line alone at the end of the noon. The first one is close to five ports, the door is simple and chaotic, and when you enter the room, you see the bathroom and the desk, you immediately take the door out..., and head to the second one, which is the exploration hotel near the airport, next to the BRT.
Explore the price of the hotel, the overall clean and comfortable, but there is airport shuttle transfer, plus the service staff kind and courteous, especially the front hall Deputy Richard Aling saw me older and one more person, is "hello ready to", without considering to book five rooms...
0616 We returned from Shaanxi to Xiamen, and Zhang Li learned that there was a lot of luggage, special driver of a private car to help with the loading, the service was actually done.

Value for Money
My first time stayed at Xiamen Discovery Hotel where I found it is value for money. I went for business trip so I preferred the hotel to be nearby the airport to avoid the traffic jam in the city. It is only about 15 minutes drive from airport Terminal 3. The hotel check in service was very efficient and I felt much relief after the flight delayed for almost 2 hours from original schedule. The room size is reasonable for business hotel room where the round bath tub occupies half of the bathroom. The internet WiFi speed was a bit slow. However, the breakfast variety and choices are the credits of the hotel particularly you can have choice of ground coffee. An unusual experience was I could not open the hotel room door when I wanted to enter the room to take my luggage for checking out. The electronic lock was run out of battery that I needed the service man to open with mechanical key. It took 10 minutes to get it done. As a whole, I consider I will stay here again next trip to Xiamen.

If you are doing Business Near the Airport, Good Moderate Hotel
The rooms on the club floor are very spacious, with one room for the bathroom and one room to sleep in and the service is very good. It's clean and efficient. Breakfast is OK, passable, but they need to have liquids that you can drink--juices, cold milk and even water would be appreciated.
You can get a taxi to the Wanda Plaza for RMB15 each way (US$2.50 for a 12 minute ride) and there you will find all sorts of restaurants and stores. The best part for me there was VQ Juice, which has the best tasting all 100% freshly squeezed juice I have ever had.
I would normally give them a three star, except I had a minor incident at the hotel and even I was leaving without asking management gave me some lucky money for New Year's and any hotel that does that deserves an extra star in my view.
If you are a couple, the rooms are very conducive to spiciness.

Extravagant decor, but a really nice hotel
I stayed here for one evening in November 2015, a friend who lives locally having suggested it. Her recommendation proved to be a very good one, and I will stay here again when I return to Xiamen. The hotel's lounge features some bizzarely plush furnishings, but the rest of the hotel is lovely (and more tasteful). My room (complete with circular bath!) was really nice; so was the breakfast provided.

Would stay again...
The hotel and the rooms are quite nice, new and clean. English is not widely spoken. If you come by train, the location is about a 30 Minutes taxi ride (~RMB 60) from Xiamen North Station (GaoTie/Highspeed). I didn't post room picture, they would be exactly the same as Billy C's. The round both tub is indeed a bit funky.
If you are concerned with privacy, the bathroom has electric curtains that will add good privacy to your bathroom visit.
The breakfast was good, if you like Chinese food, but the western range was rather pathetic. Unless your normal breakfast includes fries and nuggets.
The location is a bit isolated and there are basically just some industrial buildings and open land nearby. To get some non-hotel food you have to walk about 500m down Qishan North Rd., on the left you will see a small alley with many small local Chinese restaurants, many are ChongQing style. If you dare, try it, I did and the food was excellent.
