La Demeure was a fantastic place to stay, it exceeded our expectations.
It exceeded our expectations! The staff was amazing, they went out of their way to help us with anything. The view of the sea from the room was gorgeous and never got old. The breakfast was ample, served in courses, we got delicious omelets and treats to start the day

Stunning views, super-cute pool, warm hospitality
Superb stay. Travelling with our two young adult children and needing a base in Sidi Bou Said while exploring Carthage, Tunis as well as the town and beach areas, our two suites worked perfectly. Loved the generous breakfasts (cakes!), cute pool, stunning views and, as we stayed for over a week, we got to know staff really well too and they were so helpful. Excellent location - close enough to the centre of things but also tucked away enough from the main streets to be relaxing. Big thanks to Jaber and colleagues for the warm hospitality (and for finding a lost necklace!) and to the housekeeping team too for keeping our rooms absolutely spotless, hoping to return again soon!

Terrible
We had booked a suite for our wedding night, specifying from the time of booking that it was a very special occasion. It had been confirmed to us that special decorations would be prepared.
Upon our arrival, the receptionist welcomed us with great kindness, warmth, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this is one of the few positive points of our stay.
On the other hand, the suite was far from meeting our expectations, and even less so for the price of 1,000 dinars per night. We were told that coffee and tea were unlimited, but we only found one coffee pod and one tea bag in the room for two people.
Several amenities also had defects: the toilet seat was broken and did not even fit the bowl, the toiletries were poorly arranged (soap in the shower, shampoo at the sink), and the door handle fell off, to the point that my husband had to put it back in place himself. Cleanliness could also be improved, especially under the bed.
Breakfast was another disappointment. There was no buffet or option to choose à la carte, only a standard breakfast. I nevertheless thank the chef, who had the thoughtfulness to prepare a fruit plate adapted to my allergy. On the other hand, seeing cakes served by the housekeeper rather than a server is quite surprising in an establishment of this category.
We also asked for a bottle of water, without being told that it would be charged as an extra. As for the pool, it was dirty, even though we had expressly asked during check-in if it was usable and we were assured that it was.
The check-out unfortunately reinforced our disappointment. We discovered at that moment that the bottle of water consumed at breakfast was charged at 8 dinars, without this having been indicated to us beforehand. My husband handed over two 5-dinar bills. The receptionist asked for change or payment by card. Since we had neither, he asked my husband to go out and find change. My husband replied that we were going to take a few photos on the terrace first, while a solution was found. During this time, the receptionist remained at his post without taking any action. Upon our return, he simply indicated to us that he had not found any change.
For a night charged at 1,000 dinars, we expected impeccable service and a memorable experience to celebrate our wedding night. Unfortunately, this stay was just a succession of small and large disappointments.
It is all the more regrettable as the establishment has real potential. With more rigor in the maintenance of the facilities, transparency regarding billed services, and a quality of service more consistent with its positioning, the experience could be quite different. As it stands, the level of service is unfortunately very far from being up to the price charged and the image that the establishment conveys.

30 Years in Travel… and This Hotel Still Blew Me Away
Having worked in the travel industry for over 30 years, I don’t often find myself truly surprised by a hotel experience anymore, but Le Demeure Sidi Bou Said completely blew me away.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The view from our room was simply breathtaking and one of those views you never get tired of waking up to. The property itself is stunning and so elegant, beautifully designed and full of character, while still feeling warm and welcoming.
The rooms were incredibly spacious and finished to such a high standard. Every detail felt thoughtful and luxurious without being overdone.
What made the stay exceptional though was the team. The staff could not do enough for us throughout our stay . So attentive, genuine and effortlessly hospitable.
One of my favourite moments was breakfast. We had the option to enjoy it on our terrace and I honestly could not believe the amount and variety of food they brought to the room which was generous, beautifully presented and the perfect way to start the day while taking in those incredible views.
The location is also unbeatable for exploring the magic of Sidi Bou Said.
After three decades in travel, it takes a lot to impress me, but Le Demeure absolutely did. A truly memorable stay and one I would recommend without hesitation.
