Hotel manager and his wife work very hard to maintain the hotel. Someday I would like to visit Cooktown Motel again.

Nice place, awful room.

I only expected a budget basic room and I am thankful for a friendly welcome but the room was really not ok. It had a depressing feel, no internet, TV doesn't work and inadequate light to read, and the borrowed lamp had no bedside table and there was no chair, so I read on the tile floor. Glancing at other rooms they seemed better so maybe this one should be shut off from bookings. The shared areas were fine and the cat was a welcome distraction. I would give 4 stars for the motel but minus 4 for the room.

Stay in Cooktown

Bed sloped to the head. No extra pillows. No servicing the whole 3 days we were there. Nowhere to sit inside the room except on the bed. Too overpriced for what you get. Very small for a villa. Wifi didn’t work couldn’t connect. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.

I stayed 4 nights. It is basically a backpackers converted to motel . There was a communal kitchen and shared bathroom. The rooms were small but had all the things needed. T.v and Wifi although wifi didn't work.....but is seemed to be the case throughout Cooktown. The garden was leafy providing lots of shade with cozy seating books throughout. Rules were simple security pretty good. Its a sweet place if you're mood needing luxurious facilities. Wirth the cheaper rate paid
